Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the street food festival Smorgasburg as part of our NYC vacation. The location with a view of the Manhattan skyline was very nice. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food on offer was very varied. The visit was worth it!

Where to begin...the smells, sights, and sounds make this truly a sensual experience. There is everything from vegan to carnivore available and at reasonable prices. If you are unsure of a dish, ASK about it. Try things you've never had. The butternut squash doughnuts are really good. They are cake, not yeast doughnuts. Take a parasol or umbrella and sunscreen as there's not a lot of shade. Buy water from a vendor outside the park. Split the food with someone in your party and try twice or 3 times as much that way. Walk to the riverbank and look at the sights. Be prepared to spend several hours there. It is an experience you won't forget.

The Smorgasburg experience was great. Plenty of choices for food from all types of cuisine. I will be sure to visit again in another year or so to see what's new!

Not worth the time. Inconvenient and isolated location. Very unimpressive and overpriced junk food which can be found anywhere.

I live just down the block from this place and I go almost every weekend. It is only held on Sat 11am-6p but things get sold out by 4p and they start breaking down their stations around 5p. I would suggest getting there before 1p, otherwise it is super crowded and the lines can be extremely long. It's held outside from April until Nov, not sure where they go in the winter, they change locations for the indoor venue every year.
We usually grab a mix of food and drinks and sit by the water. It's the best way to spend a Saturday. I think for tourists, this is a better way to spend time in Brooklyn and NYC then in Times Square, although we call this particular block, "Times Square" during Smorgasburg Saturdays cause it's incredible how many people descend on this little neighborhood.
My favorite stalls is Pomme Frite for truffle oil french fries, Donut, and Nachos. I've eaten at almost every stall, but the french fries and donuts are AMAZING!

What is more foodie than Brooklyn right now? Hard to believe that Williamsburg became a destination for this flea market of food, but what a cool weekend destination for an alternative to waiting in line for brunch. You could walk for hours buying up tasty treats and snacks. Be careful if it calls for rain, most booths pack it in.

A fun experience here with my adult son who is in NYC for a summer internship. A wide variety of food stands- ethnic, sweet, savory, vegan, etc. Expect to pay ~$10-14/decent, but not large serving. Seating is on picnic tables in an adjacent area. There are porta-potties next to the food stands, but nicer bathrooms near the exit. Note that there is no shade in the eating area- we went on a hot sunny day and we got baked by the sun. Plan accordingly.

Google map stated 2 different location. First, I went to the one on 90 Kent avenue and it’s closed. Understood, it’s winter. So after that I went to the 8th floor Kent avenue and food is literally next to nil. Looking for lobster rolls, fried chicken etc and was disappointed with the food options. So, I thought there might be a different smorgasburg event. True enough, a winter smorgasburg address popped up. This time, it’s 625 Atlantic ave. so I decided to head there seeing lobsters and oysterbk in the photos. Excited when I arrived and was told by people on the street they use to be there but closed for the season. It’s WRITTEN WINTER SMORGASBURG MARKET. All in all, I spent about $50 in Uber fees and couldn’t get a bite! You could at least update your details and location on google.. very disappointing! Came all the way from Australia for this. Never again. Tourists, stay away if you don’t want to waste your day chasing them around!

Excellent choices of food but a bit too crowded and you need to stay in line for some of it, But than you get your food and you seat in fort of this amazing view of Manhattan... and that's really all you need !! whenever I'm in NY I will defiantly visit again !

Have been seen Smorgasburg Instagram pages for months until I finally was able to fly to NY and go... WOW that awesome! and it was a NY Times Food Festival as well. I tried so many things from ice cream, dumplings, beer; its an all sweet and salty experience for your taste buds. Just bring your camera some friends and/or family and eat all day long!!

I’ve seen articles stating that Smorgasburg combines with the Brooklyn Winter Flea Market from Nov-March, moving indoors at 25 Kent. Is that still the case this year for Nov 2021?

Hi everyone. I will be driving in for the day for the Smorgasburg. Any tips on where to park. Thank you in advance
Written 28 August 2019
There is free street parking in the area on North 7th Street, and also on Kent Avenue where the Smorgasburg is held. If you can't find free parking there are some garages in the area, You can do a search engine search for 'Williamsburg Smorgasburg - Saturday Parking' you will see a map of the area where the event is held and where the parking garages or lots are located.
