My 11 year old daughter and I were staying in nearby Pinos Altos and decided to ride down to Silver City and check out the visitor center and park. The visitor center was closed, so we went for a walk in the park. I'm pretty...More

This park presented an interesting element of the local history. I especially liked the mosaic mural. Take the time to read it.

I was a bit disappointed. This place has an interesting story but there is not much to see. It has great potential, if it was cleaned up.

We strolled along the "ditch" and were impressed at the town's initiative to come up with this solution to flooding. Lots of nice walks and bridges to cross.

The Big Ditch is right behind the visitor's center. Very pretty, interesting history. I can't remember if they had picnic tables, but this would be a great place for a picnic
