Saw people swimming here, not sure how they got down to the water, we didn't hike down that far. Good place for a quick stop and picture, but so many other areas that are better to see.

Our kayaking guide suggested this spot as we had originally planned to hike Waterholes Canyon (which is now a guide-required tour as of May 1). Follow the dirt road to the left of the Hanging Gardens trail and you will come to the trailhead. The...More

We heard about this hike from a forest ranger and had some extra time before our tour of the dam started, so we decided to try it. The trailhead starts at the end of a dirt and gravel road (continue to the left past the...More

The Chains are STUNNING!!! There's a little dirt trail you can drive on, past Hanging Gardens which comes to a small parking area. Take a backpack with water and snacks, wear good hiking shoes and scramble carefully down the slickrock formations to swim in the...More

This was a great little swimming area with no Beach. You get into the water off the Rocks. The hike down wasn't too bad and I'm a nearly 50 year old grandma! The scenery is beautiful!

Don't be scared of the rocks and cliffs. The Chains is a great place to swim in the lake and fish. Jump off the rocks in to the clear water. The rocks are easy to climb up even if they look steep.

Since the #1 motel in Page didn't have a pool and it was 114 degrees out, there is only one place to go - the lake! You can pay for the beach at the marina, OR you can go (FREE) to the "Chains" (terrible name,...More

A short scramble down the sandstone bluffs gets you to a beautiful fishing and swimming spot right on Lake Powell. Bring lots of water and sunscreen as it gets hot but its a great spot to relax and get away.

There is a way down through the chains to the water. It has a little tiny beach and you are able to paddle in the water, although very cold. It is a hard climb & not easy to find. But worth the effort to do....More
