3.1 miles and 870 feet of elevation gain for this quiet and peaceful walk. Wildflowers in spots along the way.

If you want to avoid elevation/snow issues - this provides a good substitute to those hikes. This can get lots of wildlife exposure and gives great views. Bring water.

Did this trail in mid-May in a counter-clockwise direction. Started on the trail to the left. The meadow had several different wild flowers in bloom. A great photo op. Trail in steady uphill but not to steep. There are no blazes but there is a...More

When most trails are inaccessible it is possible to walk here as there is less snow. It is not a very interesting or scenic walk as it follows a creek and some of it is on gravel roads

The trail starts in an uphill section and continues up hill all the way. Saw a lot of turkeys and deer on the trail. This and Osceola Ditch were my 2 favorite hikes.

This trail links with Timbercreeek trail to the south, to form a loop. Problem is that the snow at 9500' will prevent you from finding the Timbercreek trail to go back down. Same is true if you are going the opposite direction. That said, even...More

This trail starts at the Baker Creek Campground, and It follows the creek. It is heavily wooded, and gorgeous. You can collect as much dead wood as you want in Great Basin, and dead Aspen branches are clean to carry and burn really well. If...More

Our great surprise upon taking this hike up Baker Creek and beyond was that we mostly were hiking through alpine forests, with occasional meadows, with trail outlooks that have spectacular peeks to the Snake Valley far below! Continuing further up the trail to the saddles...More

This 3.1 mile hike was lovely, tho poorly marked. Get detailed directions from a ranger. I recommend going uphill on the left arm of the trail. It is more difficult than the right arm of the loop and therefore it is easier to do going...More

It’s not a difficult hike by any means. It has little elevation change and can easily be done in a couple of hours. I would say that the hike is a good one any time of year, just bring plenty of water.
