On a rainy day, we drove through and stopped at a few shops. The ones that were open were super friendly and fun to look at.

This is definitely a place to come off the beaten path. A good way to get away from all the tourist. A nice selection of locally owned shops.

You must pay a visit to the arts and craft community. You will truly be amazed at the plethora of talented artistisans that are on the crafters loop. We always like to visit the Whaleys woodworking shop.

Wonderful eight mile tour of 100 officially recognized artist shops plus many others which do not have official designation (officially designated shops receive a yellow flag). A very eclectic mix with something to please everyone. Give yourself ample time. A good activity for a rainy...More

Take your time and visit the multiple stores. They all support each other and have their own unique skills.

If you want something to give you a change of pace from Gatlinburg, this is it. Slower pace and some great crafts/gifts. Glades road reminds you of what Gatlinburg was 20 years ago, before airbrush t-shirts and moonshine stores.

There is a restaurant kinda hidden in the first set of 5 shops on the right as you cone off the highway from town. I'm sorry I don't know the name but it's family owned and operated and they have awesome BBQ.
