During a recent family visit, we took the kids to the NASA Goddard Visitor Center. I must admit that we were pleasantly surprised. There were several interactive activities for the children. A lot of good information on the history of the space center, and the small gift shop had a nice variety of items, including freeze dried space food.

The NASA Goddard Visitor Center is a great museum! Lots of educational displays including an actual Moon Rock and a model of the JWST. The gift shop offers plenty of t-shirts, patches, pins, etc... It's open to the public without having to drive onto the base.

This is a fascinating place to visit especially if you are interested with astronomy and physics. It requires more time than the 90 minutes we had allotted. Be prepared to read and watch a lot of video as NASA scientists explain the challenges of understanding our universe and the tools use to explore it.

Where is the space shuttle at, that the pictures were posted of? Really small, the only cool thing was the Moon Rock and that dark room with video taken of the sun.

Entry is free to here, I would pay to gain entry. Its informative and has lots of things to see. Does not have a cafe on site, but you can take your own picnic and eat in the gardens which is nice.

I recommended a visit there. You can see a lot of pictures of the universe. There is an incredible video of images of the sun! You can see other things like Nasa's rockets.

The NASA Goddard Visitors Center offers some nice updated interactive exhibits that appeal to all ages. The Solarium room shows breath-taking footage of REAL surface of the sun activity. That must not be missed if you visit here. Allow an hour or two for a visit. They also have a nice gift shop with reasonably priced NASA souveniers - T... More

We went to the Goodard visitor space centre with my child to show her the space activity been conducted by NASA. This space center is perhaps a bit small in size. It as one large hall in which all the work is displayed in the form of exhibition. All the exhibits are placed close to each other and there was... More

What a place. If you're interested in science, space exploration, this is the place to be! I took my 9 year old grandson there on Sept.26, 2015 for the Open House. NASA opened 10 buildings to the public. They were celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope! We were able to go where they are now building it's... More
