Non muslims are allowed inside the complex but not allowed into the area where Quran inscriptions... More

A magnificent masjid in Bijapur. The highlight of the masjid is the gold plated inscriptions of verses from the holy Quran at the mehrab ( the place from where the prayers are led). The masjid is open to people from all faiths, however entry to the main hall is restricted for non-muslims.

Jumma Masjid is a functional mosque located close to Gol Gumbaz. The mosque has beautiful arches leading inside and one is actually impressed by the ornate calligraphy depicting verses in Persian in gold lettering inside the mosque. A nice and peaceful place to come to.

The Mosque is very simple inside with beautiful white arches. The mihrab is more ornate with lots of gold leaf and wonderful calligraphy.

It is an off white colored magnificent mosque. There is no entry fee to enter this mosque. The mosque has quotes from Quran written on a gold plate. The architecture is grand and the gold plate work is very beautifully done. The place was quite peaceful. I did feel it could be better maintained.

Thank Rajesh k
