The statue is located in the sea near the Vivekanada Rock Memorial. But only the back of the statue can be seen from this place. Unfortunately there is no access to the statue . It can only be viewd from the Vivekanada rock. The site is amazing. You can see the face of the statue upon returning from the rock memorial.

Just Wow. It's a fantastic place to visit
1. A small canteen is present at right hand side once you alight from the boat. The place sells water bottle, cool drinks, ice cream for 15 rs and there is ample sitting area. Senior citizens might love this place after the exhaustive walking at vivekandar rock
2. Easily can spend close to 45 minutes enjoying the views and the place is maintained very neat.

The tall statue of the famous Tamil Poet Thiru Valluvar, in a separate island, but next to the Vivekananda Rock, can be seen from a very long distance. It can be best viewed from Launch to the Vivekananda Rock.
The Statue is artistically sculptured. The stone colour is dull and appears more old than it actually is (20 years) .
Could not go to the Statue Island, as currently there is no Launch Service to that Island

Great statue of poet thiruvalluvar and unique experience to climb in stairs to reach statue feet. The rock can be visited in the same ferry from Vivekananda Rock. Gigantic statue is very much inspiring. They can construct an elevator to make the place more accessible for senior people.

In the year 2000 my son asked me to travel with him to India to be the first to fly in the new millennium.
I had been in the Army in 1969 and chose India for my four days of R&R.
Why did you go there I was asked repeatedly?
Spiritual. A nation of Gandhi's. Friendly, smart English speaking, even the elevator operator.
I was flattered that my son wanted to follow in my footsteps.

the ferry service provides transport to both of the islands, but during my visit, due to low tide it was not accessible. So we had to resort to the memorial only.

This is a huge statue of poet Thiruvalluar, made near to Vivekananda rock memorial. The nice serene is enjoyable when you are there. Lot of people coming here just for a visit and as a prestige 1 to add in the trip.
This statue is visible from the Kanyakumari Beach. Stands tall at 133 feet. This is an important landmark in India where the 3 seas/oceans meet - Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean.
It was our leisure trip towards Kanyakumari and we enjoyed a lot in the sun raise and sun set in a place.
The one and only place you can see sun raise and sun set is Kanyakumari.
The Blue sea fills up your heart. Once can go up till the foot of the statue.

This is a magnimous statue of a famous Tamil poet erected in the ocean, one can combine this with the Vivekanand rock memorial visit, same ferry will be used for both. One will find his writings inscribed in the walls. One can climb up 2-3 levels of steps to reach the feet of the statue where you get a 360 degree view.

When was the last time anyone managed to visit the Thiruvalluvar statue... I can see lots of people writing the ride was suspended for high or low tide. I really wish visitors across world are able to make it to understand the legacy of this poet who is presumed to have lived beyond 2000+ years and have still written literary works suitable for any gen without reference to religion.

hi i wanted to get an overview of kanyakumari.
it would be great if you could help
Written 22 June 2016
You can see all the all the places of interest within Kanyakumari within a day but if you like to visit other places of interest nearby add another couple of days. It is certainly a place of interesting geographic location but it is a very crowded and rather dirty. These makes it difficult to enjoy its beauty. Bad planning has also spoiled the view to some extent.

How can I get there both in Vivekananda Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue by the cruise or by private boat service? And which is the best time to visit this spots and give me the Timings of boat service too.
Written 15 April 2015
you can take a taxi or the local auto. to reach the place where you get a ferry for these attraction. it's a cheap date roughly 21/- Indian rupees for the trip they take you first to the Vivekananda rock and drop you there you have to go on foot there at a particular area you need to take off your shoes and slippers and walk bare foot. you can see the temple and the Vivekananda site at the same time. It depends on how much time you want to spend. there is a separate area for meditation which is in peace, one can try that. The location on the rock is beautiful with good views.
then by ferry you go the Thiruvalluvar statue. Time is yours until the last ferry before sunset where you can stay back and enjoy reading sculptures and seeing the sea and beautiful scenery.
where the ferry drops you and as you walk to the main shore you see both these monument together do stop and take a few clicks of both together. Except the rainy season all times are good.
