Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been to this location several times before for the City of Independence Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. I went here in April to see a performance of the Spirit of Independence orchestra.
You enter on the lower level and can either walk up the stairs or take an elevator to the second floor where the auditorium is located. There is a stage and seating on the floor and seating in the upper level. The seating on the floor is folding chairs. I find the seating in the upper level to be more comfortable. The view is also better there unless there is some reason a person would want to be very close to the stage. My one small warning would be if you are sitting in the upper level, the stairs are not spaced out evenly . . . one long step, one short step and they are a bit steep. An older person or one with balance issues would need to be very careful here.
This auditorium is available for rental through the City of Independence.
