This mansion is a beautiful Victorian Era restored home. They have done a nice job with that...however if I have guests from out of town or I have a few hours I would pick some of the other houses in Independence just for the simple...More

Very impressive house! The tour included costumed actors portraying the time period. Only 1 artifact belonged to the owners, but the architecture, decor and furniture made this stop very worthwhile. (We have seen many, many old homes!)

This was a great elegant historic Victorian style house to tour. It had many things that were very modern and unique for its time period. This house is huge and full of history. They have restored it beautifully. If you like touring historic homes from...More

This place is great and they've done a brilliant job in reconstructing life in those days. Beautiful building and informative tour, it was great to see some American history. It's a shame none of the original furniture has been able to be recovered but what...More

If you are in the Kansas City area during the Christmas season, this is a must. Every year the theme and decorations are different.

This was my 2nd visit to the Vaile Mansion. Home was beautifully decorated. I would recommend going at an off peak time as our tour was very disjointed and incomplete due to various tours going on at the same time. Also, the tour guides had...More

Very beautiful. I heard about this place with the many themed rooms and had to see it. A co-worker from the Center Point hospital said she worked there during holiday season. Simply put, Beautiful.

This spooky looking mansion is full of interesting architectural features and the guided tour gives a comprehensive history of both the family that built it and the special features that make it unique. $6 for entry and tour; $5 for seniors.
