Sweet missionaries shared their testimonies and historic information about the church and its members, as related to their time in and around Independence. Really helped me understand better what happened here.

First stop to find out about all the historical sites in Independence. The courthouse itself has a courtroom that Harry Truman presided in. Also in building a collection of Caleb Bingham paintings.

Although this is an LDS facility, they do a very good job of telling the whole story, in a balanced manner(I'm RLDS). Family friendly.

Well there is a lot to do! Make sure you see the pioneer cabin and the printing press down stairs and hear the stories. I’d say give yourself up to 2 hours. Especially if you're with family.
