We were not able to tour this church but it was interesting to see. It is tall enough to see when you enter the city but worth going closer.

Lovely visitors center and tour of this very impressive structure. Our tour guide, Nancy, was very informative about this off shoot of the Mormon Church. Actually the descendants of Joseph Smith lead the church till the late 80s. Accepts women in the clergy and accepts all sexual orientations. Also a great museum with the 1838 Liberty jail door.…

Truman High held their graduation at this amazing building, it is truly a place to see if you're visiting Independence.

This place is weird I think they are confused on what to do with such a large building. our tour guide gave us some facts but only sounded like it was used to have a prayer in it every day. And a meeting once a year. Sounds like a waste or church funds.
