For the umpteenth time we have been here, we never get bored. We enjoyed the tour of I Putu Arya Wigina Baru. He knows how to explain perfectly how the tradition is kept alive in Puri Anom. The royal family is also hospitable and approachable, not only for us as distant family members, but for everyone. This location is ideally suited for beautiful photo sessions. Our visit in 2018, 2019 and 2023 still remains with us like a fairytale. If future visitors want to come, I ask them to look in their cupboard or attic to see if there are any old dinner plates that they can donate to the palace for renovation purposes.

Many thanks in advance.

An insightful tour of Tabanan Palace, a wonderful meal fit for Kings - as we dined with the Raja himself!
Traditional dancing, which we were encouraged to join, followed by the main event...
A special, beautiful trance dance by 2 girls like Dedari (Angels) and then 2 young men on hobby horses stamping though fire while in trance!
This was the first event of it's kind held here for tourists/expats... they will be holding more events in future.

All these pics are accurate, and the temple area is wonderful, BUT it is not this place or address. These are pictures of Ulun Danu Beratan. The website on this page link to the Royal castle in Tabanan. It is a great place, but it is NOT THIS TEMPLE. The castle deserves visitors, but double check your information ALWAYS, and end up where you actually want to be.

We saw quite a few temples while in Bali, and many looked like they needed some good renovation and love. This one was not one of those - it had manicured gardens and rivers either side. It was clean, well kept and serene. There were lots of tourists around - but this was ok as there was no sense of it being overwhelmed. There is a lovely park and garden to go walking through if you have time, we had a guide waiting for us so could only do a part of the gardens.

As you move West of Canguu take a tour of this piece of history, learn about Balinese Royal tradition. If you have the luck/karma, you may get to meet some of the Royal family! :) It's super close to a large beach that is still quiet and local feel.

We were greeted with a warm welcome into the puri by Pak Panji himself. The balinese food was authentic and delicious, a must try when visiting Tabanan Anom Palace! The visit was educational and informative, we have learnt a lot about the Tabanan Kingdom!
