Located on the Bedugul area, this temple offer clean fresh air and great scenery. This temple is printed on the 50K Rupiah paper bill. Souvenir shop around sell stuff with reasonable price. Ticket entrance (20K Rupiah) also not expensive for the attraction. You can take a boat ride on the lake if you want to explore more. A must visit!

Ulan Danu Beratan Temple is featured on Indonesia's Rp 50,000 note - that's how iconic this temple is! Mostly local Indonesian tourists but also saw a handful of foreign tourists too. Not particularly crowded which was a pleasant change from most tourist spots. If you have time, can also go out onto the lakes as you can rent out boats.

Lovely temple and perfect photo op. Set in the water, with the lake and mountains behind it, makes the temple quite beautiful. Very enjoyable! We were there when it was misty and then it did rain. So the view wasn't as spectacular as it might have been.

You can reach... More

We visited Ulun Danur temple at dawn on a photography tour. We had planned to catch the sunrise there. The weather was quite chilly and we had to wrap ourselves with shawls. After paying an entrance fee, we went inside. The temple complex was deserted except the three of us. The temple, comprising of 11 Meru towers, is dedicated to... More

From Ubud you will drive anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours to reach Ulun Danu Bratan Temple. This temple is one of the most visited in Bali so be ready for the crowds of tourists and worshippers. You will pay a minimal entrance fee with my visit only lasting about one hour. The complex contains many restaurants and souvenir... More
