Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped for a visit to this Sita temple which seemed to be under repair. It is now painted gold. There is a river gushing behind and a small bridge to cross over. It was a quick five minute stop.

The pastel colours of this temple have changed and is now red and gold. However what was a surprise is the historic and significant location of this temple. There is a special footprint in the rock beside the river which is significant in the faith of this temple. You need to remove your shoes and cover your knees to enter the temple. At the time we visited there was a service underway and we were included in the festivities and received a blessing. It was nice to be included and felt engaged with this special place. Our 5 minutes stop was 45 minutes due to finding it more interesting than just simply taking a photo from the road. Be careful when you are walking along the road as it is the main roadway so lots of cars. Parking was easy.

It's only for the faithful!. A Hindu pilgrimage site. Located in legendary Ashoka Vatika near Nuwara Eliya on the way to Ella. About 30 minutes from the site is Sita Devi's Agni Pravesh Site.

This is an active Hindu temple fro worshiping the goddess Sita. Because of that, it's not primarily intended to be a touristic place and there are missing any information at any point of this place about the place, its parts, or some traditions. You need to google everything by yourself.
It's not allowed to take pictures inside, so just enjoy it there and take some pics of the outside parts of the temple. To enter, a person needs to leave their shoes before the entrance.
The is no entrance fee enter the temple, but there is a lot of places inside for some donations so you will most probably end up making some small donation at some of these places.

Our guide stopped here and in we went.
Such interesting stories about it, which we may not have know if our guide wasn't so knowledgeable, but it's worth a look anyway.
A lot of locals stop and pay respects as they're driving past (sometimes while still in their vehicle) so be aware of traffic outside.
Be respectful- take your shoes off, and cover bare shoulders and knees.

Not a large or attractive complex, we stopped only because it was adjacent to the road. An inside it's not a lot better. dirty, monkeys running around, not worth a stop.

The temple is very dirty and needs a good clean up. Floors all muddy but that may be due to wet weather. Nevertheless needs a thorough clean out
