My husband and I got away for a couples getaway. The staff that works there. Amanda was super sweet. We tent camped. Found a spot. We picked site 19. It had a tent pad. See photos. The only complaint about this was the table looked brand new and not leveled yet. You had to watch yourself. Or you were stepping... More

We loved the trails. Part of the Falls Branch Trail was closed for maintenance but we were still able to hike down to the beautiful waterfall. Total hike was probably around 3 miles. Trails are maintained fairly well and streams trickle along the trails. Very peaceful with lots of trees. Also Lake Catherine has what looks like very nice cabins... More

Well, practically. We live in a gated community very near the state park. It's beautiful, has cabins, campsites (both day sites and overnight), there are spring-fed pools, and the people are really great. Please don't forget to visit the gift shop for trinkets and maps!

We went to see the waterfall. We went clockwise on the trail taking the shortest route to the falls. They were nice but not worth the drive. This lake has a large industrial plant on the lake shore. It was January so no real foliage on the trees. I'm not sure if it is more scenic other times of the... More

We loved every moment of our stay from our easy check-in with friendly staff to the beautiful hiking trails. Our cabin was warm and cozy and had a beautiful view with a fully stocked kitchen. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone and... More

This hike is long but there is a short cut for those with children. Wanted to see the waterfall but due to dry weather it was a trickle however the pool of water at the base of the fall was cold and inviting. Stop at visitor center for park for short cut.

I have been to this place many times over the past few years. I have hiked on all the trails. The lake is very clean and pretty. The timber is primarily southern hardwoods with some pines. Many of the structures at the park were built back in the 1930's by the CCC boys. This past January, my wife and a... More
