I stopped in to see the temporary exhibit but decided to visit the permanent exhibits as well. This isn't a large museum but the exhibits are interesting and well-presented. I was pleased to find a good deal of space dedicated to Native American history. This is a well-rounded collection of exhibits and very educational. It is appropriate for school-age children... I had some time to kill waiting for my daughter to finish her finals, so decided to give this museum a go. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of exhibits in this place. They had a lot of history of the native peoples of Wisconsin, up to current times. The floors, four of them, were packed with information. You... More

We enjoyed this museum immensely as it took you through the various stages of Wisconsin growth, from the days of pioneering to modern times. They have tons of artifacts, nicely displayed as well as life size dioramas depicting early life of Native Americans and early settlers. Most interesting and surprising were some of the industry associated with Wisconsin. I'm not... More

Had it not been raining, we probably would not have ventured inside. If you're looking for a cold or rainy day activity, this fits the bill. If you're an outdoor person, keep walking outside. The four floors of the museum gave a nice overview of Wisconsin history. Young kids may be bored because there are not a lot of interactive... More

This is a great museum that starts with the indigenous peoples and goes into modern times. There is a wonderful timeline that shows the political direction of the country state by state. Very interesting to see how different areas of the country felt about the presidential candidates. Great artifacts, photos and descriptions. No charge, donations accepted. Wonderful gift shop.

I appreciated this museum about Wisconsin history. I thought the most interesting floor was about the Native Americans; being from Michigan, it was interesting to hear the Native American and fur trading stories told from a different angle. I also enjoyed the special exhibit on the history of elections in the US. Overall, I was glad we decided to visit.

We are not from Wisconsin so this was a great way to learn about Wisconsin and its history. It is self guided so you can move at own pace. We could have used some suggestions for parking. We ended up parking several blocks away and walking. The street parking was labeled for permits. N

This museum was a very pleasant surprise. We are new to the area and wanted to learn more about WI. We picked a perfect place to visit as this was so interesting and informative. Great exhibits which even the children enjoyed, and we came away with lots of knowledge.

I visited this attraction with my four children (8,11, 13 and 15). While they enjoyed the entire museum, everyone enjoyed the Indian exhibits the most. We are familiar with East Coast Indians, and these were different in many ways. Mine also liked all the voting on the top floor. Blue Star Museum We ate lunch (heavy sandwiches) at the Old... More

This museum spans 4 different floors and we need to go back to see the exhibits on the top floor more closely as we ran out of time. Very nice exhibits and a worthwhile stop for visitors as well as locals.
