I was surprised that this terrace was closed on 1st of January. I was surprised that it is closed for evenings, so before you go better check hours. But still you can get a glimpse of great lake view through the glass elevator and great view on the Capitol (parking is free off hours).

For the last two years my niece and I have attended the Fair Trade Arts and Crafts Fair at Monona Terrace. The building in and of itself is a work of art, Frank Lloyd Wright design. The walls of the Terrace on the main entrance level (on the way to the gift shop) has the history of Frank Lloyd Wright.... More

We saw the fountain on the roof at Monona Terrace from the Capitol. The view is unhindered. We just did not know what the fountain represented. We elected to drive to the Terrace and park to tour it. We did not realize we could have walked as it was a pretty day. Parking was not a problem though. The Community... More

Went to the Farmer's Market and it is a large, clean conference center right on the water. Very nice place.

A one day conference brought me to Madison at the Monona Terrace Convention Center and while it seems similar to many convention centers I visit, what set it apart were the beautiful lakeside views, walking casually through the building on different levels, I was constantly finding myself looking out the large windows. Good internet speeds, friendly staff; all good. But... More

If you wish to take pictures of the lake, it is the perfect place. I don't advice to go in windy days. It is freezing!

Attended business conference at Monona. Nice design with good flows, excellent views of Lake Monona, and a short walk to the square and State of Wisconsin Capitol Building. Onsite catering was very well done with great choices and very good tasting food (not often the case at conferences). Wide spaces, well lit and well designed for natural light where possible.... I was here for the SAF national convention in 2016. The location is convenient in downtown Madison and the convention center is attached to the Hilton. The capitol is only a couple of blocks away, and there is parking at Monona Terrace as well as in several municipal lots nearby for about $2/hr. There are some really large spaces which... More

Attended an international conference here and found the facilities very adequate for our needs. The meeting space was roomy and plentiful allowing for multiple sessions. Everything is centrally located without being too spread out. The views of Lake Monona are spectacular and the rooftop garden amazing. Within close walking distance to hotels, restaurants, bars, and the State Capitol.

It was a sunny day when I was there and it was great to see the city skyline and the lake. We also met a young couple in their wedding day, and I think it's great they were allowed to have their wedding ceremony over there, on the terrace.
