Cannot speak highly enough of this tour company. Whilst they were a little pricier than other options, the boutique service, comfortable smaller van and expertise of our tour guide made it all worthwhile. We were a large family party of 10 travelling from Australia including kids (6, 9 & 10), parents and grandparents, and so took up the majority of... More

We did the Grand tour which was very informative with Ellen sharing her local knowledge of her wonderful NOLA area. Would highly recommend this company and this tour due to size of tour (numbers) and quality itinerary. A great day out seeing old NOLA.

I took the tour of St. Joseph and Whitney Plantation. Our driver, Jerry was very informative. He was a careful driver and a real trooper, since NOLA had heavy fog on the morning of the tour. The St Joseph plantation appears to be a family-owned and working plantation, whereas the Whitney plantation focuses primarily on slavery. The tour guide, Ali... More

My son and I joined Isabelle's for plantation tour in January 2017. We visited two plantations, St. Joseph and Whitney, which were an interesting contrast. St. Joseph is maintained by descendants of the owners, and displays memorabilia of the former owners' family. The tour was conducted by a lady who seems to be a relative of the family, talking about... More

We took the tour to Laura and Oak Alley Plantations in Jan. 2017. Our driver, John, picked up the two of us from our hotel, we were the first, and then he picked up the other 10 people. My husband and I were lucky, we are claustrophobic and we would not have been able to sit in the back of... More

The tour is really expensive and not worthwhile at $150 pp. The tour is handled by Isabelle's but really they sub-contract the boat and plantation parts to other tour providers. If you had a car you could visit both places by yourself. Isabelle provides a driver, who collects you at your hotel/Airbnb and explains, whilst driving, the history of the... More

Hello and thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience on our 1/2 day Plantation and Airboat tour. I am glad you found the Destrehan Plantation tour itself to be fine and the pick up service at your AirBnB to be convenient. We have a 94% approval rating of "Very Good" to "Excellent" on Trip Advisor and... More

We booked a tour with Tours by Isabelle via Viator for Thurs 5th Jan. The excursion was for a boat trip down the Bayou (swamps) and tours of 2 different types of plantation houses - Laura, a traditional, colourful Creole home and Oak Alley Plantation, a traditional, palatial western style home. Enitially, we were unsure whether to book as it... More

We were able to set up a last minute tour of Oak and Laura Plantations as well as the bayou. Tours by Isabelle was very accommodating for a family of 5. Great historical and local information from Joseph for adults and teenagers, who was an awesome guide. Loved the beautiful plantations. Amazing history. Although the bayou was beautiful, we did... Other reviews have shared the factual and great aspects of the tour. Tour is run very professionally and our guide Ellen was a gem. Informative and highly interactive with the group. A few things to consider... if he weather looks like it won't cooperate change your tour date. The fog the day we went impacted our ability to enjoy the... More

Plenty of choices to reserve sightseeing excursions in advance and instead of renting a car or navigating your own way, this company will send a knowledgeable driver to come get you and drop you off at your hotel and take you to the places you sign up to see. We wanted to see two very different plantation tours, and along... More
