I came down wto New Orleans on vacation and had booked plantation tours with Old River Road over a month in advance for today. I hadn't heard anything further about pick up time, etc, so I called this morning. That was when they informed me that the afternoon tours today had been cancelled. There had been zero communication regarding the... More

My wife and I went on the Laura and Oak Alley Plantation tours with Old River Rd Plantation Adventure in mid February. We were very fortunate to have Jacques as our driver/tour guide. He is native to the area and is clearly an expert on New Orleans and the Plantations. We took a more scenic route to the Plantations which... More

Took a two plantation tour which was so filled with beauty and historical information. Visited Oak Alley Plantation first. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and interesting. It is a beautiful plantation, and the oak trees make it majestic. Cute little gift shop and cafe as well. The second plantation was "Laura". Our guide there was Julie and she really... More

We used this service because it was recommended by friends of ours. I must say they were right- ORRPA did a first class job of making sure we had the best experience possible. Whether it was communicating with us about the pick-up time, giving us historical information during the drive, or working to make sure every part of our day... More

Jacques was an excellent driver and host for a great plantation tour. We selected visits to Oak Alley and Evergreen Plantation's. They were both great sites that helped us understand this is not "Gone With the Wind". Dress for the weather as the sites may be hot/cold and you will be outside.

Can get pricy. But its worth it. My Tour included two guided tours of two plantations and a swamp tour. A Cajun lunch was included. A full day, but it was brilliant!

We took Cajun encounters tour of the plantations and swamp tour combo in June 2011. It was already quite hot and in the Laura plantation it was really hot. We went to oak alley which has oak trees lining the road to the house just like 12 oaks in gone with the wind. Our guides were very informative as they... More

We had Nick as our tour driver, who has a history degree and also lives in New Orleans, so he was exceptional! The plantation tour guides were also great, Lacey at Oak Alley and Rose at Laura Plantation. Very educational!

From start to finish this was an incredible tour. The knowledge of our tour guide Maddison kept us very informed. He was very prompt and accommodating and has lived in Louisiana all his life. The tour took us both to Oak Alley and the Laura Plantation. The only thing is we wish there was a bit more time that we... More

Very interesting tour -- I think it is vital to see the plantations and hear their history as you enjoy the rich culture of the rest of the New Orleans area. Madison was an awesome guide. I've done a lot of these kinds of tours and he was one of the best -- friendly, knowledgeable, really made it an adventure.... More
