Great for little ones

First stop in our 2nd New Orleans stay. The kids (4 & 7) loved it. It was a weekday so we had the whole park to ourselves. It lacks a cafe, so you must bring your own food.

My 2 year old loved this little place. It only took us about 20 mins to go through it, but it was still fun. I think it would be a great place for a birthday party.

This place was awesome! My daughter loved it! The slides are little steep and she hit her butt on the ground every time and stopped wanting to go down them but she loved everything else! Such a cool idea for a park!

When in NOLA we always visit Storyland. It is classic fun. I love that they haven't tried to modernize the area. The kids love to play with the characters. The landscaping is beautiful and the new Ticket office and restrooms are lovely.

This was a small but cheap bit of fun for the kids. This particular area had different play areas based off of children's books. Kids can walk and enjoy the scenery. They got to explore a rocket, see models of the three houses the pigs built, see the shoe that the old lady lived in, etc. It didn't take long... More

We road the street car out here and enjoyed the walk through the park. Storyland is only $4/person. It was a fun play area for kids probably 8 and younger. Things to climb on and a couple of slides. Tree covered walkways throughout the area. Small so it only takes an hour or less to see everything. It does have... More

The kids loved the fast dragon slide and enjoyed climbing around on the different story book features. It held their attention for an hour.

Storyland itself isn't very big and can be gone through in about 30 mins. I wouldn't make a special trip to see it. The trees are beautiful and there's plenty of shade. The walkways are uneven and the little houses look a bit in disrepair. There are two slides (one wasn't working when we were there.) My daughter had a... More

Visited with our 4 year old who seemed quite happy at Storyland. Parents and grandparents couldn't quite overlook the fact that the park is falling in disrepair. Building are crumbling and everything needed a good scraping and a new coat of paint (or 2). This is a 15 min attraction.

Young children love this place! You can spend hours here letting little children run and play all over the story land area.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
