First, my thanks to the kind staff for providing a cemetery guide, and for maintaining the graves of our gallant Confederate Heroes! In this cemetery, resting in peace are Generals John Bell Hood, Richard “Dick” Taylor, PGT Beauregard, and many common soldiers of the Army...More

I grew up near a cemetery and love visiting them. New Orleans' cemeteries are so unique, with the bodies buried in crypts, instead of underground. This one is absolutely beautiful!

Because this is an older place, the trees are tall and provide much needed shade in the heat of the summer. I mostly wandered around, but I did want to see General Hood's grave, and then got interested in finding the weeping angel. The maps...More

An old New Orleans staple. Plenty of convenient free parking within a short walk to parlors. The staff was excellent, and the surrounds were beautiful

We visited this cemetery after finding out that the St. Louis cemeteries in New Orleans now cost money due to vandalism. This large cemetery was just beautiful. We visited in the early morning and walked around by ourselves. There is an option to grab a...More
