We love to visit New Orleans, but have never before done the Nola Gondola experience. What can we say?....it was wonderful. I might note that we decided to become engaged during our ride. It was perfect. Very romantic. The gondolier (Robert Dula) was perfect. He engaged us in conversation when we wanted to ask questions.....but left us alone when we... More

Beautiful setting and music. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and went to Pearl for wine tasting and brought our wine. The boat driver opened our wine and we bought glasses from them. I would definitely recommend it for any couple.

Robert "Roberto" provided a wonderful experience for my son, mother and law and I. It is set in a beautiful park which I would never had known existed. And it was relaxing to sit, listen to music and watch the trees and birds. I highly recommend the experience.

I proposed to my girlfriend, and it went 100% perfectly. Robert was fantastic and had everything ready beforehand. This will be an experience neither of us will ever forget.

My wife and I took the gondola ride for our 11th wedding anniversary. For special occasions, or just to see the wildlife in the City Park lagoons, this ride was worth it. Robert, the gondolier, was wealth of information regarding City Park and the wildlife in the lagoons we rode through.

The gondola ride was certainly one of the highlights of our recent trip to New Orleans. A great, romantic way to see this wonderful park from the water.

Booked with Robert in celebration of our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We boarded to a wonderful set up and began our journey thru the City Park waterway. Robert provided information about the Gondola's journey from Italy to New Orleans as well as gave us advise about the local area. I was especially interested in the tradition of kissing when we passed... More

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
