This small museum near the French Quarter probably won't make many tourists' itineraries, but it gives some great facts that you don't normally think of when you think about Louisiana history. There was a bit of an immigration boom from Sicily when the slaves were...More

It's a great way to learn more about the history of New Orleans. It's not a huge museum, but very well presented and informative. You could tell our guide (he was Italian) was very enthusiastic about the museum. Great location--on street parking.

We stumbled upon this museum by mistake and decided to take a look. Our guide was very helpful and educated. This museum is clearly underfunded and small but was interesting to learn the Italian connection to New Orleans which so many people are unaware of.

Tried to visit today on St. Joseph's Day. No one answered bell. No signage indicating closure. No one looked to be inside. Very disappointing! I would say to call and check and have a plan B. WWII and children's museums close by.

Called to find out what time they closed and she said they closed at 4. Asked what time they opened tomorrow and she said she believes they are closed for the summer.

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
