Lotsa fun, great piano duel and great drinks. The musicians play off each other and are almost as funny as professional comedians in between songs. the only downside is that the bathroom is shared with a couple of other bars it is a mess.

I see this place got a lot of high marks, but when I went there, it really did not do it for me. The booze was overpriced.... (I know it is Bourbon street and all but it still seemed high by those standards) dueling pianos were ok but nothing to crazy and the staff did not seem very warm and... More

Popped in here after a few drinks on Bourbon and had a blast and enjoyed a great dueling piano show. The bar was PACKED! We sat in the corner on speaker boxes :)

We visited here on a Saturday night after being at Pat O'Briens on Friday night. There was plenty of room to sit and after a few minutes there we firgured out why. The atmosphere just isn't there, would strongly reccomend Pat O"Briens over howl at the moon in New Orleans even if there is a line. There is a reason... More

In the midst of Bourbon street is this great "piano bar" of two pianists and a drummer playing together or trading off all your favorite RnR hits. Great music. You can make requests for your favorite songs. They really kept the show moving and rocking even while trading off for a new musician. We spent several hours here and had... More

Howl at the Moon has the best and most consistent quality fun entertainment. I enjoyed Bourbon Street and it's people immensely, but always returned here to listen to Greg and the boys perform their extensive repartiar and make everyone of all ages feel part of one big party! After a fabulous night and too many drinks the staff here found... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
