I was with a group of 12 celebrating a birthday. All of us chose to do this tour. It was great! Brian was our guide and he was fantastic. He took his time and we learned SO much history! It was really cool getting to check out different bars/restaurants that we might not have seen if not for the tour.... More

We did the cocktail tour with Sandi and it was wonderful. Not only did she know about the history of the cocktails but also about the city and the different restaurants and bars we went to. Plus, she was super funny and we all had a great time.

Husband and I did the combo cooking class and cocktail tour last night. We had done it years back with friends but were on a 2 night trip alone this time. Our tour guide Nancy was an absolute blast! She definitely gave us some flavor being raised in New Orleans and her family owns a business here. She was super... More

Tour guide Nancy was fantastic. She took us to at least 5 bars. Each had its own character and history behind it. Nancy was so informative of New Orleans history. Having a guide brings the experience of each bar to life. Great tour!

The premium Absinthe drink was the best. It was great watching it prepared. We loved the history of the 2 sisters, Antoine's, and Monteleone hotel. Brian was very informative and easily communicated with the group. We got great recommendations regarding restaurants and places to see the New Year fireworks.

This was an awesome tour. It takes you to four very upscale bars that you might not ever go to unless you had previous knowledge of them. Out guide's name was Brian and he was so knowledgable. He was the reason why the tour was so good. I learned tons of cool info about the city and it's original famous... More

We are delighted that you enjoyed your tour and Brian's commentary. Thank you for pointing out that the drinks are not included and that it is clear when ticketing. Not everyone wanted to try specific cocktails, or they wanted to share with their companion, so pricing would not have been fair to everyone. This way people can pick which ones... More

Brian was a great tour guide giving us a history lesson with the added incentive being able to purchase suggested cocktails. This is not a bar crawl, but a fun, informative walk. I had no idea of the unique history of some of my favorite restaurants. Wear comfortable shoes!

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
