We took the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Tour with David on Jan. 2, 2017. David is an excellent tour guide - smart, knowledgeable, patient, organized, etc. This is one of the best New Orleans tours we have ever done because of David!

We took a historic new orleans ghost tour. Our guide was an history professor and was full interesting and detailed information about the city. The tour centered on places where ghost were rumored to have been seen. I was afraid it would be incredibly corny, but since sightings tend to be where tragedy struck, we learned more about history than... More

We took the French Quarter History Tour with Claudine. She was an excellent tour guide: engaging and pleasant. There is a lot of history in New Orleans, and the French Quarter plays an important role in that history. The tour lasts 2.5 hours and there are almost no places to sit during the tour, so attendees should be n fairly... More

We were lucky to find this tour company in order to get in the St. Louis Cemetery. But then their tour was so good we decided to take their haunted tour and music tour. They are truly the experts!

I travelled solo to New Orleans so to feel more comfortable decided to start with a walking tour after I first arrived. I chose Historic New orleans tours and was very happy with the choice. Meet up location was great where I could get food and listen to some great music waiting for the meet up. Tour guide was great... More

We traveled through many cities, home and abroad, and our expectations were quite high. New Orleans is the city with interesting past and some quite colorful characters. We were not disappointed. Good guide, good narrative, some quite sensational things I really don't want to talk about like Lelaurie House history ("American Horror Stories" series is based on it). Overall, highly recommended.

We live just a couple of hours from NOLA, visit quite often, yet never took a tour before. We were fortunate to have Gwen as our guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed the brisk walk and rich heritage of this historic tour. Highly recommended as a brief but fascinating overview of one of America''s oldest treasures!

Tour was supposed to be two hours and it was nearly three. Of which only about 40 minutes was in the cemetery. Our guide was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable but she is not a good guide. It was information overload. She speaks softly and would ask members of the group what they were talking about when they were having... More

Great overview of what the city has to offer. Tour directors on the whole are very knowledgeable and friendly. This was one of the best ways to see the entire city piece by piece! Would do it again if given the chance.

This was a great tour. We really learned a ton from our guide. Very knowledgeable, had lots of anecdotes and made sure all our questions were answered.

Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Algiers
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
