I booked two tours with this company by phone after reading some things about companies that if a tourist does two or more tours, a discount may be available. Rob was GREAT over the phone, gave us a great price for the two tours we were interested in, and had very knowledgeable tour guides for both tours. We did the... More

I took a walking tour with Historic New Orleans Tours for the Garden District. The tour was interesting, included lots of history about the area, architecture, etc. My tour was a small group based on day/time of year, so it made it very personal. I imagine if this was a large tour, you might have difficulty hearing the guide -... More

Not sure if the tour guide was having and off day or not (we had Gwen), but half the time she couldn't remember what she wanted to say the group and there were a few instances where we were just standing or waiting around for her to get done talking to someone else unrelated to the tour. She imparted a... More

We took two of the Historic New Orleans Tours - the French Quarter which we almost skipped but thankfully didn't. The French Quarter is so complex that walking around on your own isn't the best thing to do. ANd we the Scandal Cocktail Tour - these guides were so smart and amusing. Made me want to return to New orleans

If you're a history fan who likes an entertaining story, take the Historic New Orleans Tours walking tour of the Garden District next time you're in the Big Easy. We learned why the architecture was so different from the homes closer to the French Quarter, which homes had famous owners, and a whole slew of fun fables, superstitions, and tall... More

A group of 4 friends took the 5pm French Quarter Tour on our first afternoon in New Orleans and it was an excellent introduction to the city. The guide, a native of Montreal, was enthusiastic and was very educated about the history and culture of New Orleans. Walking was a great way to start our visit and work up an... More

Our guide, Frank, was both knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour is an excellent combination of history, architecture and fun and interesting stories. It takes a couple of well spent hours to complete and you will be glad you made the effort.

We took this tour because we wanted to see the St. Louis Cemetery and you need to go there with a tour guide. But I'm so glad that we did the tour aside from getting us access to the cemetery. The guide was very intelligent and humorous. Our kids liked the tour so much we did their Haunted house tour... More

David was our tour guide. He did a great job of explaining both the mainstream and "offstream" facts of the area. I liked that he wasn't overly theatrical, as some guides can be. My husband and I really enjoyed this tour!

We took the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Tour with David on Jan. 2, 2017. David is an excellent tour guide - smart, knowledgeable, patient, organized, etc. This is one of the best New Orleans tours we have ever done because of David!

Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Algiers
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
