Great overview of what the city has to offer. Tour directors on the whole are very knowledgeable and friendly. This was one of the best ways to see the entire city piece by piece! Would do it again if given the chance.

This was a great tour. We really learned a ton from our guide. Very knowledgeable, had lots of anecdotes and made sure all our questions were answered.

When I travel, we try to take at least one walking tour. It's a great way to see and learn about local history and folk-law, and this tour definitely didn't disappoint, except that I wish it had gone on for an extra hour!! David, our tour guide, met me at Cafe Beignet on Royal Street (a lovely place for breakfast,... More

We have been raving to our friends about the great tour the we took, the Scandalous Cocktail Hour Tour! We went to 6 different places, drinks in hand, learning about the history of New Orleans and the specifics about the places that we visited. From famous long standing restaurants to former houses of ill repute, our tour covered them all.... More

The guide for this tour (I think her name was Ina) was extremely knowledgeable about the history of voodoo in New Orleans and presented the information in an entertaining manner. I would highly recommend this tour if you like to know historical facts and don't just want some scary stories.

With so many options to choose from it's hard to get the right your for the right price. Ignore the cheesy ghost and Voodo tourist traps. This is the LEGIT your of the cemetery practices and the history of Voodoo in New Orleans. Excellent informative guides with easy booking and customer service, this is the tour company you want if... David was our guide for the French Quarter Walking Tour and was a wealth of knowledge. My mom and I had one day in New Orleans and we wanted to see and experience everything we could. The reason I titled this review the 'best choice of our trip' is because unless you know the history, to me, New Orleans is... More

We did the Cemetery Voodoo Tour of St Louis Cemetery No.1 with our teen children. We only did the tour because you need a guide to go into the cemetery now. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we would not have learnt half of what he told us if we had just been walking around a cemetery on our... More

We visited New Orleans recently...our first trip. Of course we did the Cafe du Monde and Bourbon Street things....we even had Hurricanes at Pat O'Brien's. We wanted to dig a little deeper; so we took 2 tours offered by Historic New Orleans Tours. Each in its own way was professional, informative and enjoyable. Our guide for the French Quarter Tour... Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Algiers
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
