Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have travelled from Munich internation airport to Schafberg , but do not park at parking 1 .Becasue then you need to walk for atleast 1kms to reach the station. Parking 5 is near by the train staion so you can search with the parking in Gmap.
Here come next it will take atlest 4hours to visit the top and the view (excluding having food in restaurent) so take the parking ticket for atleast 4-5hour( 2 euros per hour ). Next the online train ticket wil not give you all the tim information also if you miss the train time like us you can request them to change you time while go up but they are not going to change the downwards timing.

The view cannot justify with lense which you are going to visit by your own eyes .So i am not very poetic kind of a person who can describe that outstanding view in sun lihgt.
Time you should book 4 34 hours at top including having some food. Keep it mind they accept only cash no card.

St. Gilgen
We stopped here and enjoy the view from this beautiful town. It’s like hidden gem.
The town of st Gilgen itself is charming, tranquil and the Wolfgang Lake is also a beauty. We spend quite some time chatting by, and amiring the lake.

This lake is absolutely beautiful, when the sun shines, which it doesn’t always, it is the most gorgeous turquoise colour. The mountains rise up from the lake and there are stunning views. There’s some great hikes in the area and the lake is perfect for sailing, paddle boarding and all sorts of boating, as well as, of course, swimming.

We stopped over to the lake Wolfgang, while being driven from Vienna to Salzburg. This was our second stop ,first being Mondsee.
The lake with it's Crystal clear turquoise water, looks beautiful. The small town around was like fairy tale, quaint and peaceful. As we were there in July ,warm weather, there were 3 fountains, which were changing the direction every now and then .It was not crowded at 2 pm. There was provision of boating to St. Gilgen. But we were supposed to reach Salzburg, so we just sat there for some time and enjoyed the lake. We ate softie ice cream at Wolfgang cafe.
This lake is the place, where the opening scenes on the Sound of Music had been shot.
It is a worth visiting place.

The lake defined our holiday - we walked all around it at one time or another, and used the steamers as our local bus service.

Its a large lake, we bought a day ticket and road boats from St. Gilgen to Strobel, then to St. Wolfgan, then back to St. Gilgen.
Large boats with bar / toilets very comfortable, friendly staff and a very smooth crossing (August 2019).

Beautiful lake with a good ferry service to get around on to visit the other villages. Weekly ticket best value if you're staying for longer. Safe to swin in and plenty of places to hire boats

This is such a beautiful place to stay or visit - we thoroughly enjoyed our week based in St Gilgen, spending most of the time doing activities in the area immediately on or around this lovely lake. The clarity of the water is amazing; we got some gorgeous photos of clear reflections of lakeside buildings and scenery. With places to visit using the ferries around the lake, and great walking opportunities long and short, on the flat or more challenging, it really is the perfect destination for a holiday for people who like to be active in some way.
