Shmittenhohe cable car, one journey up and down - €108 for a family of four; ouch. The upward journey wasn't pleasant. There was a long queue to buy tickets from a grumpy lady in a glass box and then another queue to get into the...More

Forget a visit to the top station cafe, the proprietor is only interested in off-loading stale and over-priced cakes (and then making dismissive comments to Schmittenhohe workers behind your back when you complain). The food and drink was disappointing and the attitude not pleasant. If...More

There are several different cable cars/chair lifts to the top, so you can avoid the busiest Schmittenhohe route if you prefer not to be crammed into a cable car. The walks around the top were lovely, but walking on the road down from the central...More

We took the cable care up, then walked across the top of the mountains before descending on foot to Zell. Views are amazing, remember you are in the mountains so go prepared for weather changes.

We have been there with 3 kids, ages 4-10 for the "Shmidolin Way" and it was fun and challenging all together. Great place to stay for 3-4 hours. Not suitable for strollers

A combination of chairlifts, gondolas and cable cars whisk you up to different points on the mountain, gorgeous choice of walks. It's is very steep in places, walking poles needed for going downhill.

I walked a few time up to the top. What a great view down to the lake of Zell. Many people use it as a jumping point of parachute, even tandem :)

The lift was the only enjoyable thing over there. The signs were not clear at all. The lift chairs were closed. We kept walking without any clear route. Tickets were expensive. I don't think I'll go back there again.
