We’ve just finished our first Austrian ski-trip and overall it has been a success. The skiing at Ischgl is not for beginners, but subject to a bit of moaning from our daughter, suited us well. This is probably our sixth family ski trip and everyone is comfortable with reds. Getting lost and taking our daughter down a black on day... More

Quantity and range of pistes is nearly limitless, you can ski into Switzerland in about 1 1/2 hours, ski lift infrastructure is the best I've seen, the piste maps claims 272 million euro innvested within the last ten years, the ski-schule staff are very very professional, and you will rarely be ten mins from a restaurant

An excellent choice if you enjoy skiing in a large resort. It's impossible to get bored here. However I have repeatedly had the feeling that staff in restaurants, clubs, services, etc are well aware of that and therefore don't try all that hard to be nice.

The Silvretta Arena is myn favorite with the 3 Vallées in France. The restaurants are numerous and varied, the pistes are super well maintained and ski lifts are fast and modern.

The ski lifts are all quite new and the area itself is well linked. It will mainly appeal to an intermediate skier but with 240km of slopes there are enough slopes to cater to anyone's taste. Some nice touches to the area such as the smuggler route between Austria and Switzerland and the snow sculptures which are dotted all over... More

Nice well linked area with modern lifts. Don't leave it too late if visiting Switzerland... you can get stuck if you miss last big gondola and then it is 190 euro taxi or 2.5hr bus ride :(
