When we went at Christmas the snow was not that good but they had the cannons working to ensure good coverage. The ski school was good and the instructor spoke very good English, Austrian, and a little Dutch. My children gave mixed reviews about the...More

Beautiful views and long blue runs. Some reds and a couple of blacks. Make sure you go to the Top Mountain Star which offers great views of the Dolomites - can be accessed on foot as well if you are not skiing.

Obergurgl is a great place for using as a base for getting you back on track with your intermediate skiing on the start of your holiday. There is a Ski bus scheduled for 10 minute intervals that runs to Hochgurgl were the skiing is a...More

The ski resort is similar to any you can find in the area, not standing out in any respect. Several slopes are quite steep for blue ones. Views are nice and parking sufficient. Good to try once, but no urge to return back again.

Nice long blue slopes. No lines in ski lifts. Travel late March or early April. Day trip to Sölden possible with a few Euros extra to the skipass.

As a group of aged walkers we found obergurgl / hochgurgl lift system unfriendly to our needs. The lift office and attendants do not sing from the same hymn sheet and made some of the alpine huts inaccessible, even though, according to the printed piste...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
As a group of 3 intermediate skiers we wondered whether it was possible to hire a guide, rather than an instructor or show us all the different pistes. We did this in Italy however I can't seem to find any information on the net. Any advice would be really welcome. Thank you.

Yes you can hire a guide either from the ski school in Obergurgl or Hochgurgl. We have had friends who did this

All reasonable prices. But had such a great breakfast we didn't need much lunch.
