Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The slopes are steeper than for example Lech and full of lumps.
There was however plenty of powder snow (almost daily;). Pistes were crowded and there were too many unexperienced skiers being reckless.
The village itself lacks hospitality, except for the few bars with a terras.
Service personnel at restaurants in town are very decent and polite, as you would expect in Austria.
Everything here seems to be way overpriced for what you get.
For a relaxed ski experience at a third of the costs, you could consider Söll, or Val Gardena/Ortisei in Italy.
However, if you like to party, St Anton may be for you.

We have spent 2 months skiing all over Europe, and of all the ski resorts we visited, this was the most disappointing. We went in early February. Most of the runs funnel down to the base where there are just a few lifts. The skiers cut in line, push and shove to get on the lifts. Getting on a tram is partly like being in a tight herd of cattle and partly like being a sardine. You have to jump on, whether there's room or not. More often than not, you get separated from your partner while trying to get on a lift.
The resort does not have the capacity to handle its extreme crowds. One day we tried driving to Lech to ski. All along the way, at the smaller resorts, all the parking was full, and once we arrived in Lech, there was absolutely no parking available. We had to turn around and park back at our hotel. Parking is a real problem in the entire Arlberg resort system.
On a powder day, we hired a guide. We had two good runs with him which took 2 hours, then all the powder was gone. When our guide knew we were exhausted, he took us on a third run which was all chopped up and horrific. At the end of the run, when we were completely exhausted, we had a 20 minute walk back to a lift, which we elected not to use, then another 15 minute walk back to our hotel. We were extremely disappointed with the guiding!
The funny thing is, all of this seems to be acceptable to most people we met who live and work in St. Anton! It was not acceptable to us.
If you like being around rude and pushy people, this is the place for you!
Also, if you would rather party, this is the place for you!
We will not be back.

Terrible experience this morning at St Anton and the Arlberger Bergbahn. Very long queues to buy tickets and almost no one working at the ticket booths. Been in this line for 60 minutes now, and probably another 25 minutes to go. How is it the can make sure the ticket prices go up every single year, yet they can’t manage queues at peak times? Complete joke.

JAN24 First time in St Anton and not impressed by the resort management. Random lift closures due to ?? unknown reasons for 4 out of 6 days which mean you cannot ski out of the area only take the bus which is not free past St Christophe. Bus takes 45 mins to get to Lech 10 euros return , CASH ONLY.
The pistes back into the resort centre are blacks and reds (red 51 is a mountainous mogul field might as well be black). This means a funnelling of all abilities mainly onto the long black 52 . Blue 52/50 has been closed due to avalanche concerns for most of the season, crazy, just blast it! Safest way down at end of day's skiing is to take the Galzigbahn lift down. You spend a lot of money on the Arlberg pass thinking you will be skiing between 6 towns but they all become isolated once connecting lifts like Flexenbahn are closed and you have to stand up on the crowded buses. Each town has a few lifts open to prevent a no-ski claim but you cannot link them up. One day the lift situation changed at midday but too late to help you get further out and back again.

2nd visit in 4 years. Well laid out village for skiers and Apres ski.
Modern Galzig and Rendl lifts in the the centre and other lifts exiting the valley floor.
Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from in main area. This is a top ski resort village with mid to top quality Accomodation with some top star hotels in the centre.
Be prepared to pay extra for food and drink ( Take plenty of euros as back up)
Lovely ski shops and some lovely Austrian delicacies in shops . High fashion skiwear in most shops but some bargains too into March .
St. Anton is a premier resort village and the hotel architecture is spectacular . Look at the Alti Post as a example.
Great resort of the Cradle of Alpine Skiing

We went with Piste to Powder guides on our ski trip. This made all the difference in finding and skiing great snow. The on-piste tends to be crowded and you need to have or rent avy gear for off-piste. A guide service is an investment in your trip you wont regret. The terrain in St Anton is huge with tons of options

So this place claims a big ski area. Actually it’s really bad. There are a few areas linked. The linking piste is over skied and busy. If you stay in one area (eg St Anton) it’s too small. Would not recommend coming here. Much better alpine resorts. I’d rate it as the worst alpine ski place we’ve been.

ski arlberg always manages to have their slopes ready too late at the beginning of the season. Although situated sufficiently high compared to other areas in Austria, they always have the least open. As a result, very busy on the slopes that are open.

Been 3 times in St Anton and I highly recommend it. One of the best ski resorts for the money in Europe. High quality lift system, pists and off pist. The town is lacking compared to the bigger resorts like Verbier and Chamonix, but its not a big issue for me.

Fourth ski trip and as experienced skiers we still never get bored. Great bars and restaurants but also plenty of quiet places to stay. Not overpriced but not cheap either but we never feel as though we’re being ripped off. Pretty much snow-sure too.

Hello,
I am looking to go on a apres ski holiday for my 21st birthday - group of 10 lads - from the reviews St Anton looks like it would be good however I am unsure when to go for the best nightlife experience? don't want to be going out clubbing when there is no one to be seen, my birthday is in December but would it be best to wait until February?
Written 19 July 2018
I don't think it really matters if it is school holidays - you'll be hanging out at the Mooserwirt, Taps/Krazy Kangaruh (near the bottom of the piste) or a club in the Village (sorry - can't remember their names) and the kids are all collected from ski school at 3pm. Of all the resorts, St Anton has some of the best apres ski so if your birthday is December, it's going to be a lot better than some of the other resorts.

Hi everyone,
We are group of 4 and traveling to St. Anton Alberg for ski. We are driving there with campervan. The prices for ski hire start from £70. I 've heard it's alot cheaper to hire ski outside Austria. Can anyone suggest a affordable hire shop on the way to St. Anton so we can collect and drop off on the way? Thank you so much
Written 11 March 2018
We rented skis right next to the lift for 25 euros.
