Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When the burial mound of the Thracian King Seuthes was opened, the archaeologists were confronted by a bronze head of an annoyed and powerful-looking man. It is an awe-inspiring relic of times long past, and the king’s tomb does not disappoint. The beautifully dressed walls. The perfect keystone. The burial chamber. All shout at us that we may have walked on the moon and play all day on social media, but these ancient peoples were sophisticated! Visit the tomb if you get the chance

Completely took my breath away from the moment I saw the imposing bust of this curly-haired ruler in front of the actual tomb, everything original and carefully preserved by scaffolding and air-conditioning. The splash of blood where his beloved horse was sacrificed and burnt is observable on the left hand side as you enter and the silver crown of laurel leaves and gold coins are displayed behind glass. The grandeur and status of this personage is felt through the honour of such a burial, so fortunate that the tomb wasn't robbed.

The Thracian tombs are well worth a visit. This is one of the best in the valley, but if time permits I recommend going to them all. I would also suggest that you go to the Iskra Museum in the town first of all to get an overall view. Then go to the nearby Kazanluk tomb in the park. Then start your magical tour of the Valley of the Thracian Kings and drink in the history, wonder and power of the well presented archeological sites

Unique place. An ancient place filled with lots of energy that helped us to tell the ancient story of our ancestors to our daughter. We have seen exhibits that are silent where the other can be seen, except in the Valley of the Thracian Kings.

The tomb is well preserved. You get to go inside and see a few of the buried items. It was disappointing that so very little information is provided about the king that was buried there. They also didn't have a brochure specific for this site. The whole visit will not last you more than 15 minutes.

Originally a temple from 500s BC it was made into a burial mound in 300s BC. The design and expertise needed to craft such a tomb is amazing. Artefacts that were found are on display there. It is a small site but it impressive nonetheless. Definitely a must anyone interested in history. There is some info in english, toilet on site.

The tomb of Seuthes was excellent. The educational signage was localized, so we could truly understand and appreciate the site. We went early in the morning and were the only ones there to enjoy it. If you want to visit a tomb, this one is it! There is a nice collection of artifacts found here too. You won't look at the Valley of the Kings the same way again. You will be questioning every mound you see. 6 lev per person. Free parking. Easy stop on the way to Shipka. Nice view of the valley.

Even though there is not that much to see in regards of exhibition pieces the tomb as such is awesome. Thinking that people 2300 years ago were able to build such perfect structures with primitive tools is just amazing. It doesn't take much time to see it but for the reason given it's worth seeing.
