This is a replica as the real kazanlak tomb is closed for preservation. This replica is excellent as it helps you understand how the tombs would be decorated and designed and appreciate the exquisite paintings that would have covered the walls. There is a small...More

We visited the Thracian tomb at Sveshstari first and were wowed by it. So this recreation was a disappointment. Glad the original is being preserved.

Tomb is very small but brilliant. See the other museum for archaeological overview. Car trip needed!

This is a replica of the actual tomb. There is no educational information. 6lev each ticket price. You walk in and walk in 1 minute. It feels fake and more than likely the small ticket area will be crammed with people waiting for their 1...More

This life-sized replica gives you a chance to experience what the real tomb is like. You have to climb up some 60 or so steps to get there. This is a very worthwhile stop on one’s travels through the region.

Although the tomb is a replica of the original one, I think the experience is fantastic. The lovely personnel explained us all the history of the place and showed us very interesting artefacts. The place is unique in the world so I can just say...More

Bulgaria's famous Rose Valley covers also most of the 'Valley of Thracian Kings'. Several tumuli can be seen, when driving through, all spread out in the fields. Here several Thracian rulers had been buried, in the surroundings of Seuthopolis, the capital of the so-called Odrysian...More

May be of interest to ancient history buffs, but the "tomb" you can visit is a replica of the nearby real one. It's very small and the only aspect of interest is the painting for which there is minimal explanation (the signs describe the literal...More

Have to agree with most of the reviews here. The original is sealed to the public because of likely damage to the delicate ancient paintings, as occurred to cave paintings in France. So they have created a replica (also like they have done with cave...More
