Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited today on 6th April 2023 with my ten year old Son and my 71 year old Father. We had a brilliant time exploring all four of the levels with the Eco Museum. The staff were extremely friendly upon entering and the costs were reasonable. Inside you find a wealth of exhibits and information that took us a few hours to wander round. There’s a couple of interactive displays but my Son really enjoyed the reptiles and aquarium area in the basement level. Definitely worth a visit and would certainly visit again! :0) Thankyou!

Opened in 2014, this is the newest museum in Ruse and the largest freshwater aquarium in Bulgaria containing Danube river fish. In this eco-museum is presented the diversity of species and protected areas along the Danube river, as well as the coexistence of man and nature. The museum is located on four floors, where you can see a rich collection of fossils and dioramas depicting various species in a real environment.
Special attention is paid to the exposure of prehistoric animals, including a model of the hairy mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) in real size. Exposed is the world's only entirely preserved mammoth body part for those species - the lower jaw of Mammuthus rumanus.

It is new but probably the best museum in north Bulgaria! Nice place, location and guides. At every floor you can find sth different. History of Dunabe region, kinds of live fishes and at the last floor sth completely out of the eco. It' really nice place!

The admission is 10 lev with seniors being admitted for 5 lev. Much of the signs were in both Bulgarian and English. The two upper levels of this museum contain mostly stuffed birds and animals (taxidermies) that can be found within Bulgaria. The ground level has a very realistic reconstruction of a wooly mammoth that looks particularly lifelike. The underground level has an aquarium containing fish from the Danube and some reptiles that we weren’t particularly impressed by.

I’ve been there twice and I can definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ruse! I have quite some friends that are archeologists and I’ve brought them to the museum. They were amazed at how modern and well governed it is. A must stop for Ruse tours!

The museum is well organised, the staff speaks English and all exhibits have description in English. It describes the fauna of the region, fish, birds, mammals. It also has two rooms related to mammoth, including a full size replica. It also has a small aquarium and terrarium. Red eared turtles can be left for adoption here instead of being released. Also there are some cross-bred boa snakes, including albinos.

This may well be the best museum in Ruse, but that is not saying a lot.
The place has stuffed animals, a small aquarium with turtles, a lizard and several fish tanks as well as an art room(?) and a 3rd floor display of 1950-1980 broken TV's, stereos and electronics. Also some 1890's examples of animals preserved in formaldehyde jars. All a bit weird.
For many, the highlight is the full-size model of a woolly mammoth on the 1st floor. But I thought the several dioramas of local animals (stuffed) on the 2nd were the most interesting.
Will take 30 minutes to 1 hour max.
