Small beach with scary big waves for bodysurfing, and smashing yourself on rocks, if you're into that sort of thing.

Called magic sands because the sand has been known to vanish and come back overnight! This beach is beautiful but has been really rough most times we've been there. Not good for toddlers! If you want to body surf or boogie board and are a decent swimmer is is amazing - the sea here goes a super cool turquoise color... More

We stayed right across the street and would sit on beach for sunsets. Sand has been mostly gone while we've been here, so we swim in our pool. There are lifeguards at this beach for a reason!! There is a volleyball net, and games going often. The lava rocks are tricky to negotiate getting in and out of water when... More

Magic Sands is a busy local spot for body surfing and boogie boarding. Can be crowed with sunbathers when the sand has been pushed on shore by wave actions.

Magic Sands is very dangerous if you are not an experienced swimmer, surfer, or body boarder. The waves crash on the beach, and the surf is strong. It's called magic sands because the tide takes the sand away and leaves only rocks during certain times of the year. Be safe.

We spent half a day at this beach. It was close and very easy to get to. We were there early and had no problem parking. Beautiful beach and lots of beautiful fish, great snorkeling. Our daughters got to swim with a turtle that was hanging out close to shore. The locals were kind enough to point them in the... More

We found out why they call it magic sands...the sand can disappear or reappear quickly. There was no sand when I was there, but was assured it could return at any time. Apparently, that would require a storm, but didn't get to witness it. Even without sand it is a beautiful place (duh...Hawaii!)
