This was our third trip to the Big Island and we had never gone to the summit of Mauna Kea. Brett and Nohea were our guides. The trip takes some time and the unpaved section of road will free any stuck kidney stone you have. The view and weather were perfect at the summit, around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. One thing... More

We were really lucky as Kiluea put on a spectacular evening display throwing magma and rock the size of cars perhaps a hundred feet into the air. Bring binoculars for sure. Steve, our guidelines, did a great job telling about natural history and adjusting the itinerary to meet the desires of the small group (13). When I say we're were... More

We had a great tour up to the summit for a magical sunrise experience. Tour followed the script with the acclimate stop for a hot beverage before making it to the summit just in time for a brilliant experience. A traditional chant greeted the sun which added to the experience. Breakfast was good with the Kona coffee appreciated after the... More

It was worth getting up a 2:30 a.m. to view the spectacular sunrise on Mauna Kea. The tour guide, Nohea, was the best! Not only totally knowledgeable, but a wonderful person who loves her home and sharing it with others. This is a don't miss if you're traveling on the Big Island. We were closed out of the sunset tour... More

On Valentine's Day, my husband & I went on the Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge Adventure, and what an adventure it was. Gerry was a fantastic, very knowledgable guide. I'd injured my knee a few days earlier and was afraid I wouldn't be able to make the hike down into the forest, but the pace was slow enough that I... More

First of all our tour guide was awesome, very profesional, friendly. The reason I say it's not worth it all at all is because you spend $200 to see the sunrise for a few minutes then you go back down the mountain! In the meantime we spent a total of about 30 minutes drinking coffee and hot chocolate in the... More

This tour group pays attention to detail! We did the lava walk with Peter as our excellent and knowledgeable tour guide! We enjoyed everything from walking onto the almost new looking van to the cool wash clothes handed out at end of tour. They provide lunch and dinner and jackets and gloves and water bottles and binoculars! More than I... More

It was a fun filled day with an excellent tour guide named Justin Larkin! He was very entertaining and provided us with a wealth of knowledge regarding the volcanoes and the Hawain culture. He had a way of making each tour member feel special! He was a top notch tour guide. Be sure and ask for him when you take... More

This company provided everything in a tour we could want! We took the 12 hour Epic Island Volcano Journey and from our 6:25 AM pick up at our hotel, to the 6 PM drop off back there, it was perfect. The staff is most accommodating and our guide, Eric, was superb! The breakfast stop at a coffee farm was interesting... More

This is the second time we have toured with HFT. Last time was 12 yrs ago with our children and this time with another couple. This was an all day outing, with breakfast and lunch provided with drinks, and saw coffee farm and roaster (Kona Joe), Black sand beach, a private lava tube, waterfall, volcano and all in new updated...
