This is a fairly large market but mostly made up of tourist trinket shops. There are some good produce stands at the front of the market and we enjoyed sampling the longans, rambutan, lilikoi and little bananas. Couldn't be more convenient- right on the touristy part of Ailii Drive.

This is a local gem. Mostly a traditional farmers market. Such a verity of fresh vegetables and fruits. Some unusual. Its nice to try different things. Visited twice for fresh foods for dinners in the condo. We enjoyed all of the items we bought. Nothing went to waste. They also had a lot of hand made items like baskets, jewelry,... More

This Market is a lot of fun. It has great produce selection. And of course a lot of crafts and art to keep every one in the family looking for something special. The adjacent parking lot is a zoo with customer and produce trucks causing the confusion. So I recommend the parking lot across the street from the market.

This is a small local market in the heart of Kailua-Kona. We went on Sunday 1/8 and some of the vendors were not there, maybe observing Sunday. They had plenty of fruits stands and local wood carvings. I would have loved a smoothie with some of these fresh fruits, but there was no vendor there for that. We did buy... More

We were pretty disappointed here, it's ok for buying some fresh fruit but thats about it just full of cheap and nasty imports. Used to have hand made soaps etc but these seem to have disappeared. Sad.

Open around noon on Tuesday thru Sun. Lots of produce, clothes and trinkets. Avoid Wed as prices may be higher for the cruise ship. Seems like vendors here might be more retail merchants that buy wholesale from farmers. For a real farmers market go 5 mile south to the Keauhou shopping center on Sat btw 7:45 am and noon.

Walked through on Sunday. Most of what I saw in the way of trinkets or souvenirs were CHEAPER at the ABC stores or Target. The fruit and vegetables smelled wonderful, but we had already shopped at the grocery...and I thought the prices really weren't bargains.

We go to Hawaii usually in November and rent a house. This year was no exception. We found a lovely house just 45 minutes south of Kona overlooking the ocean. The local farmers have many Markets and although they are open one day a week, there are others to fill the other days. Fresh vegetables picked that morning and their... More

The farmers market did offer local fresh fruit and produce. It's a great place to buy local tropical fruit and try different things. The rest just felt tourist trappy, with over-priced tchotchkes. There was one booth of wood carvings with the artist working there - that was impressive.

The produce selection is fantastic, especially the fruit, and very inexpensive. Lots of jewellery places where you can pick up little bobbles, lovely lava rock jewellery. There's also a local man who does mask carvings which is neat to watch him work, and his masks are amazing. I like to support local craftsmen if possible. Cute little are to meander... More
