Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stone Old Town is a little Middle-Ages town located not so far from Dubrovnik, in Dalmatian Coast. The old town is a mix of a reconstruction and well preserved place, especially the wonderful wall, which links Old Ston and Mali Ston. We stayed in an accommodation inside the old town and it was very nice. Also, we could walk, see.some places and go to have dinner in this place. Pitifully, we came here in low season, and almost all was closed. It was very quiet.

How many of these old walled towns are there on this amazing Adriatic Coast?. This was probably the most peaceful and tranquil one that we visited. Visitor numbers where low so you could just wander around at leisure exploring the back streets and the Church and fortress. The walls are something to be seen but not for the feint hearted!. There are a number of local places to eat here, some of which are renown for specialising in sea food.

There’s not much in this town but the stone walls that climb up the steep hillside, claiming to be the second longest in the world after China’s Great Wall. We’ve walked the Great Wall of China, and if this is second place, it’s a jillion positions behind #1. Nice, but in total disarray after the earthquake, most of it it not safe to walk. The town itself is a quick visit with a couple of restaurants, but, more a gateway to the wine regions of the peninsula. Worth a stop if passing by.

Worth a short stop for lunch between Split and Dubrovnik. Discover the little village, the Ston salt pans which are the oldest in Europe. Enjoy lunch in one of the many little restaurants in Ston, while feeling totally calm in this small village which has a relaxed vibe. Baca is a gud choice for a lunch.

We did a day trip for Korchula. Walking around this small town is delightful and we enjoyed stopping for coffee. They did not serve 'treats' but said go next door at the bakery and bring it back to enjoy with the coffee. Lots of history- best to do with a guide. Stone walls are neat to look at , but daunting to those that want to hike up.

Protected by the walls through the various occupations of Croatia, this small town is a beautiful sleepy town. A visit to the walls is a must. Oyster and mussels are also a must taste as they are grown in water which is 50% sweet and 50% salty. They claim to be the best in the world. I will reserve my judgment as I have tasted far better in France and Ireland. However the mussels were amazing.

It is a really really small town. Everywhere you look there are stones and old buildings. We came by car and it was nice that there is a big parking lot, very near to the city. Anyway, good place to take a walk and relax, not much else to do here.

The best of this town is to see the 2nd longest wall in the world, with the Great Wall of China being the only one longer. But, to climb the jillion steps, you better be young or a mountain goat.

It was nice walking around the town and seeing the salt fields and getting views of the town walls. There isnt much else to see in the town but there are plenty of resyaurants and good food. Alternatively take the challenge of walking up the wall.
