Words will never describe this place. You just have to see it. The Sedlec Ossuary is located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints and is commonly called the Bone Church. This trip can easily be done in a day if you are staying in...More

An ossuary is not worth to leave Prague. Sightseeing takes you about 10 minutes. As for me, it would be enough to see the photo on the Internet.

I found this chapel to be quite fascinating. It holds the bones of 40,000 plague and war victims, which are mostly stacked to the ceiling on either side of the chapel. There are a few creations such as the bone chandelier and chalices on the...More

Okay, yes, it is a little creepy to think about, especially since we in the United States do not have the same history as do these places in Europe. So what does a church do with the sudden influx of bones when they started to...More

This is a very unqiue experience with an interesting back story. Its fasinating to see the arrangements of the bones and the sheer number of them. I agree with other reviewers that the chapel is pretty small and could be done in about 20 mins,...More

Make no bones about it (ouch), this is an incredible place to visit. I went as part of a tour, which held it's own frustrations as time spent at the chapel was very limited. Having said that, there is only so long you can look...More

This was an amazing building. It was unbelievable how they are able to fashion such structures with human bones. It was beautiful and eerily at the same time. Highly recommend to make a day trip from Prague to Kutna Hora.

Absolute dud and blatant tourist trap. Interesting back story as holy ground where thousands were buried (on top of one another) and how the (macabre) displays of bones is intended to dispel fear of death, etc. Today though, it is a tiny and dank privately...More

They close at 6 so keep it in mind when planning to visit, it’s always heartbreaking to see someone outside that didn’t made it on time.

Audio guide in different languages Some bones are missing as ignorant visitors take them as souvenirs. Please don't touch the interior!

An incredible chapel made of bones from more than 40000 men. Only at one hour of Prague with the car. A very unique and unexpected visit!

We had read this was easy to get to from Prague so hopped on the train. Getting there was easy enough but it took ages to get back with various changes and delays. Since the church itself is quite small and can be seen in...More

Hire a car! The rates are favourable, and Prague is not a big city to escape from. It's very easy to travel to Sedlec independently. Enjoy your time in beautiful Czech!
