About Seward Charters
Alaska is the premier fishing destination in the world, with Seward as a top location. A day's catch saltwater fishing out of Seward can include halibut, salmon, ling cod, and rockfish. As the wildlife congregates around good fishing, bubble net humpback whales are often seen along with orcas, sea lions, and sea otters. We only take out private small groups, for those who want to ditch the crowds.

I took my family on a fishing trip with Capt Bill in July. I went with another charter on a Saturday and Capt Bill on Sunday. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Both days were challenging and did not start getting much action until later in the afternoon. The difference between the two is at 4pm the other charter told us to pick up the lines it’s time to go in, right when we started seeing some action. With Capt Bill he constantly was helping us check lines, and was determined that he was not leaving until we caught a good amount of fish or we were ready to go. AND WE DID. At one time we had 4 lines hit at once, and Capt Bill and his deckhand were running around the boat trying to net all the fish as they were coming in at the same time. We ended up with over 200 lbs of Halibut, Salmon and Rock filets from our trip with Capt Bill. The only reason I chose a different charter on the 1st day was we had 8 people in which Capt Bill could only accommodate 6. With Capt Bill this was my 3rd trip over the past 4 years in which we caught our limit of Halibut and Rock. A couple Halibut in the 60-70 lb range and others in the 40 lb range. This is also my 2nd time trying a different charter out of Seward and both trips we caught minimal fish. It is fishing, even though I feel with Capt Bill it is more catching. It’s not just the difference that he knows where to go to find the fish, but you will find with Capt Bill you can truly see he cares and is doing everything possible for you to have an absolute great experience. To him it’s not just you’re another charter he is taking out, but he really cares and wants you to have an incredible experience. I apologize to my family and friends that want to join me in the future, but I will only keep my trips to 6 people so I can always book my trips with Capt Bill.

My family and I went out with Captain Bill and it was *the best charter* I have ever been on from Seward. I have been fishing for Halibut for over 10 years and Bill with his boat and crew set a new standard of excellence. The boat was comfortable, clean, our lines were always in the water with fresh bait and the friendly crew was quick to net, hook and offer to take pictures :) We caught our limit of rockfish and halibut (!!) AND we all had a great time on the water. Bill was great at spotting Orcas, Humpbacks and Sea Lions. He was really knowledgeable about the wildlife and the surrounding area. We loved that we had incredible whale watching in addition to fishing. I appreciated that Capt Bill played good music and knew how to run the whole operation while making it fun and natural. I have been kinda uncomfortable on other charters with crusty crew but that is not the case with Bill and his team. I highly recommend Captain Bill and Seward Charters! I am definitely coming back - no one else I would charter with in Seward.

Reserved an "all day" trip with Captain Bill for 7/16/18 about 8 months in advance for myself, two sons, a son-in-law and two grandchildren, ages 13 and 10. Less than a week before the charter, I received an email from Bill saying that he found another gig for the 16th and that we would be going with Captain Peter. Well, Captain Peter proved to be less than skilled at finding fish. In 8 hours we caught 5 small rockfish and one small salmon. For almost $2,000, we ended up with 11 pounds of fish. Thanks Bill for disappointing my family, you're a stand up guy!

My wife, daughter, and I along with my Father and two Uncles went on a fishing/sightseeing charter with Captain Bill and Martin on his boat the Growler (best in Seward). Our ages ranged from 15 to 83 and we all had a blast! I had booked the charter with no real knowledge of what I was doing and hoped it would be a great time and that we would catch some fish. Well, it turns out it was AWESOME! I was hoping it would cool, but it exceeded anything I could have wished for. We caught salmon, large halibut, and big yelloweye rockfish in only a couple of hours that yielded ample fish fillets for everyone. Our sightseeing consisted of seals, sea lions, porpoise, eagles, humpback and minke whales, orcas, a calving glacier, driving through an island, and sliding the boat into a cave. Captain Bill had neat stories, information, and answers for all our questions. Never a dull moment on the Growler. Captain Bill and Martin were top notch in their efforts and Martin had our sizable catch filleted in no time once we got back to the dock and done with pictures. Thank you Captain Bill, it was way better than I had hoped it would be!

Captian Bill met us as planned and said that we might want a full refund. He then explained the weather and sea conditions, and that we wouldn't be able to fish for Halibut and that Salmon fishing hadn't been good, but the boat and deckhand were ready to go. His interest was clearly our experience and fishing first before his lost trip for the day. He talked the details of fishing in making our decision. After choosing a full refund, Captain Bill spent time explaining rivers in the area where we might find good fly fishing. They were all flooded and muddy, but we tried. Each of us wished we could have fished with Bill Burner and wouldn't hesitate to in the future. He is a fisherman first.
