We took the train to the top of the mountain where we disembarked to go kayaking in an area of British Columbia. You pass into Canada on the ride up the mountain which is very beautiful. The train ride itself is spectacular and you can book it yourself from town but it is a 15 to 20 minute walk there.... More

This is a must if you are going to Alaska, you will not be disappointed. From the time that you get onto the train, which is located right at the cruise ship dock, you will see these beautifully restored carriages, with gleaming green and yellow electric locomotives up front. In each carriage there is a very informative system to give... More

We took the White Pass Train and Bicycle Tour and it was worth every penny! The train ride up to Frazier (I think) was beautiful. What stunning beauty! And what hardships the stampeders must have gone through! We were maybe 15 people in our car, so we could all see well; I spent a lot of time outside on the... More

After our hike we rode the White Pass Railway, it was beautiful to see the harbor where our ship was from the top of the mountain. I still can't get over the trees, they all look like Christmas. I want to go back.

Great train ride up to the mountains. At the beginning could seem boring, but more up you get more beautiful it is.

This was a very nice way to take a to see take little inland tour as part of your Alaskan cruise. While the scenery was beautiful, you also learned quite a bit about the history of the area and the gold rush that caused the railroad to be built.
