Join us on the Chilkoot Trail Hike and Float as you retrace the steps of the gold seekers of 1898 on the Historic Chilkoot Trail. You will begin your journey in Skagway with a 20min drive out to the Chilkoot Trail head. From there you will embark on a 2 mile hike (350 ft elevation gain) lead by our very knowledgeable guides, as they tell you stories of the gold rush, point out flora and fauna along the trail, and look for signs of wildlife. Once your hike is complete, you will enjoy a scenic float on our 18ft ore framed rafts down the Taiya river (no white water). Once at the take out, enjoy warm beverages and a snack before heading back to town.

This was a great way to spend the afternoon. The hike was easy and got to see lots of plants and learn about the rain forest. Ended with a little float down the river and saw a few bald eagles.

The guide made this a great choice. He had lived in the area for many years, had all the history, was able to point out spots of interest, info on wildlife and local stories. Would have l;iked more of the trail hiking.

There is more benefit to doing this hike in a smaller group. That way it also becomes a better learning experience too. The guides are well-trained and very knowledgeable about the Alaskan ecosystem too. I book groups trips... More

I believe you could. But They said they would like to have a group less than 10. You may negotiate with them before you sign up. I hope they accommodate your request! Good luck!
