We signed up for the Ghost & Good Time Girls tour when we arrived in Skagway! There were 6 adults. We met the madame who was dressed in Klondike style clothing and she took us on a walking tour around Skagway filling out heads with amazing stories about what life was like during the Golf Rush era. Our Madame was very out going which really made you want to get into it. She didn't break character once. She was very flirtation but in a fun way. At the end of the tour we ended up at the Red Onion Brothel Museum where we were escorted upstairs into the old brothel where we were served Champagne upstairs and then walked threw the museum. Which was really interesting to see the things they found from some of the ladies that once worked there. At the end we excited threw the bar where things were hopping. We all really enjoyed this tour and we cant wait to do it again next time in Skagway.

What an entertaining afternoon with a madam from the brothel at the Red Onion Saloon. She met us at the cruise ship dock for a short ride into town. She was very informative and we learned how the Goodtime girls survived during the late 1890’s. The brothel tour was quite interesting with a champagne toast to the girls of yore. We didn’t see the ghost who haunts the brothel though. We did learn how to properly sashay across the streets of Skagway.

Our guide/hostess, madam, "Sharon DuBois", was a delight from beginning to end. Full of flirtation, double entendres, and laughs, she kept our spirits high while also making sure we understood the dangers and deprivations that that working girls of 1898 Skagway faced. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the tour and would recommend it to any traveler in the area who can handle a dose of good-natured bawdiness!

My wife and I did this tour in Skagway. After being greeted by a "madame" in period costume of the Klondike Gold Rush era (our tour was led by Madame Helen De'Sac), we walked through town as she pointed out various places while describing their connection to Skagway's "ladies of negotiable affection." While sharing historically accurate information, she weaved many humorous double entendres into the narrative. Her energy and stage presence made this story come alive in an interesting manner. The walking tour concluded upstairs at the Red Onion Saloon with a champagne toast and visits to the rooms of the brothel (which are no longer in service as such). Enjoy a drink downstairs before you depart. The bar has a 19th Century feel to it.

We signed up for this walking tour from our cruise ship, and it was a great choice. Our "hostess" met us in costume, in period persona, and got us heading out on a very entertaining walking tour of Skagway's more notorious streets. First things first, a crash lesson on how to be a "street walker." Then informative and entertaining stops in the more "illicit" streets and alleys of the town. On the serious side, a nice monologue on the hardships, dangers, and (sometimes fatal) consequences of being a "soiled dove" of Klondike Gold Rush-era Skagway. Tour ends up at the Red Onion Saloon, where we were treated to more historic information about the saloon, a glass of champagne raised to the "Goodtime Girls," and a tour of the upstairs bordello rooms. Kudos to our hostess for being so FUN and entertaining. Definitely a walking tour NOT TO MISS in Skagway.
