A nice view of the city from the top of the mound. A nice place to hang out and have a picnic. The rusty old gas works are interesting too.

Great area for walking, enjoying the ski]yline of Seattle, growing every year, and to watch the water traffic. The area does attract a certain steampunk crowd so there was some good people watching too.

We love steampunk and the old machines in this park would qualify as steampunk art in any museum. Nice view across the lake as well as the houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle.

Went there by 15mins car ride from the university village. This park was a Gas Company gasification plant at the past, so you can see a gigantic gas installation which I found was really interesting. This park surrounded by the Lake Union and you can see the famous spaceneedle tower from here, so it was a really good place if... More

We stopped at the Gas Works while running along the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop. Seeing the old gas works was pretty interesting, but the better part was climbing the nearby hill on the trail to see the amazing view of Seattle and the surrounding lake. The picnic areas and restrooms needed a little clean up and refresh.

We lucked out on a rainy day with a dry time to walk around this interesting, historical park with a great view of the city. Very interesting. Disturbing though to see homeless people camped under the main structure. Sad to see this and all the tagging on the equipment structures.

If you want a great view of downtown Seattle, this is the park to visit. The gas pipes etc... are not visibly pleasing to the eye but the concept of recycling is not lost on me. There are two gravel pathways that will give you some more viewing opportunities, but I wasn't able to go down them since my wheelchair... More

Many tourists will find this spot familiar because it appears in a lot of movies. It is a great park to visit with lots of Seattle history and beautiful views. Locals and tourists alike find this park very appealing. We went because some friends from California knew it from "10 Things I Hate About You."

Can a park get any more hipster? Beautiful park with great local flare. Very close to some amazing restaurants too.
