Nice park, and clean location. Bump into some very polite local people, and enjoyed one hell of a view. Nice, quiet area for a personal picnicking, and if your into lighthouses, well worth it.

We were able to make the tour which runs summer weekends in the afternoon. Check their website for more info - they even have someone responding to emails regarding the light. The guides were very knowledgeable and I was able to climb the tower for an excellent view. My husband had to stay below with the baby - no children... More

There were specific timings for a guided tour. Other than that, it belonged to a private residential area which outsider like us are not permitted to enter. Alki Beach itself is good enough for me and I did not really find the guided tour worthy of the wait.

The tours are held on weekends and there isn't all that much to see as the lighthouse is small. The original light is amazing and the grounds on which the lighthouse is located are lovely and not open to the public except for when the tours occur. Be prepared to climb stairs.

This is an active lighthouse still owned/run by the US Coast Guard. It's an active duty station so don't expect tourist hours. Lighthouse tours are only available during summer weekends (May-August). Wonderful views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains from the 37 foot height. -Open to public May-Aug -Weekend days only -1pm to 4pm -Free Admission -NOT wheelchair accessible... More

If you're going just to check out the lighthouse you might be disappointed (depending on your expectations). Alki Point is worth a visit just by itself, it's really nice a low tide on a sunny day.

Alki point is just beautiful but your access to the lighthouse may be restricted because of special events like weddings. Alki Point and the beach are in a high end residential area but parking was not a problem while we were there on a Thursday afternoon. We did find a public access to the beach and were able to photograph... More

Don't just go to Alki to see the lighthouse. The neighborhood is very nice, take some time (on a nice day) and walk around. You can get near the lighthouse coming from either the south or north side. But not right up to the light house. Also go when it's low tide.

We found the front gate open. There were signs on the telephone poles advertising tours. We went inside and got chewed out by some lady. They were having a private party. She said there was a sign and when we went back out there was... it was postage size compared to the rest of the signs and we had missed... More

The area is really nice walk, rent a 4 seater bike or just visit one of many shops along the way. The view of Seattle landscape was awesome! Ok the lighthouse couldn't see coz doesn't open til June! It's locked behind Coast Guard post so that was a let down but the area was a fun place to visit and really... More
