Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Seattle rarely gets snow. It snows about once every few years. So when it does snow, Seattleites love to take advantage of Seattle’s many hills. Queen Anne Hill is one of Seattle’s favorite hills. It is the best hill to find Seattleites skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing when it does snow. Seattleites also love to make snow sculptures and you’ll see snow art throughout the city when it snows. Valentine’s Day weekend 2021 brought a record snowfall to the Emerald City. I hope you enjoy these photographs of my home city in the snow.

I spent a few days in Seattle and explored several neighborhoods. Upper Queen Anne was one of my favorites! It offered lovely views of the Seattle area, and the commercial area around Queen Anne Ave. was utterly charming, with lots of fun local stores, great coffee shops, and some excellent restaurants.

Parking was a cinch; most of the local streets had free parking with restrictions of a couple of hours.

It’s a great neighborhood for walking; there are great views and many beautiful homes, most in the craftsman style.

Certainly worth a visit during a longer trip to Seattle.

Beautiful neighborhood filled with luxury homes. On a sunny day, it is lovely to walk around to admire these houses and of course to enjoy a spectacular view from the hill, overlooking Seattle.

Most people come here to see the stunning view from Kerry Park on West Highland Drive at 2nd Avenue and then leave the hill. They are content with the panorama of the Space Needle, Downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay and even Mt. Rainer, on clear days. But I think Queen Anne Hill (named after its predominant architecture) deserves further exploration if there is time.

The park is only about half-way to the top. One approach to the pinnacle, which shows off part of the hill, is to continue along level West Highland Drive, past elegant homes to Betty Bowen Viewpoint at 7th Avenue. There, the vista includes the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. Across the road, small Parsons Garden beckons for a quick look. Proceed down the street and bear left at the intersection to McGraw, a few blocks away, and turn right. You'll come almost immediately to Macrina Bakery, a worthwhile stop for a baked goodie or a cup of good coffee. Continue on McGraw, up a hill to Queen Anne Avenue N and turn right. You have arrived at the heart of Queen Anne Hill and will pass shops, cafés, restaurants and even a surviving independent bookstore. The avenue continues on a level grade and then goes down to West Highland Drive. Without stops, figure on the walk taking about 1 hour.

If traveling this route on a Thursday from June to October, consider stopping at the Farmers' Market that runs from Queen Anne Avenue North along Crockett Street between 3 and 7:30 p.m. In addition to fresh produce and other items, you'll usually find live music and always food trucks.

The hill is extremely steep between the bottom (near Seattle Center) and West Highland Drive. It is walkable, of course, but there is easy access via the 2 or 13 bus from Downtown, which also has a stop outside Metropolitan Market near Mercer and 1st, close to the start of the hill. The West Highland stop is at the traffic light halfway up the hill. If driving, there is plenty of free parking near the Kerry Park viewpoint.

This are is beautiful! Beautiful home and architecture. It’s quaint and quiet with perfect fees of downtown Seattle and Elliot Bay and SW Seattle. Sure, you can drive through this area but my husband & I walked it while on vacation here; we walked from Our hotel on 3rd Ave & Bell and walked through Olympic National Park up Queen Anne Hill to Kerry Park & it took about an hour...we stopped for picture opportunities. From Queen Anne Hill we walked about a mile to Seattle Center which was pleasant. This area is so walkable and fun

Boring, rich, white neighborhood. Nothing to see. I wouldn't recommend visiting it. Try Fremont, Ballard, and Capitol Hill.

I don't understand why tourists think this is something to see. It's a bunch of houses crammed together on steep hill. Granted it is funny to watch the toyota priuses try to make it up the steep, wet, cobblestone hills. Natures way of saying they are a retarded and bought the wrong car.

We really enjoyed driving around the neighbourhood before we stopped at kerry park. The houses are all beautiful and we felt like we just entered a movie set. us coming all the way from across the globe we and it was the first time coming to the states as well we were very excited to experience walking around the residential areas like how we see in the movies. It is one of the nicest, coulourful neighbourhoods we have ever visited.

This is the place where you get the classic shot of Seattle, possibly at sunset with the warm glow of the fading light bathing the Space Needle and the downtown buildings. I believe the view from this unassuming hill is in some respects better than from some tall skyscraper in the city center (I've been on the Columbia Center Observatory). On top of that there are several beautiful mansions in this area, clearly favored by well-heeled Seattleites, that make a walk through the neighborhood worthwhile.
