We walked and bicycled on the trail during a recent vacation. Users are mostly considerate but there are both muti-abreast walkers and aspiring bicycle racers. Most people seem reasonable and many bicyclists were obviously trying to stay out of the way of pedestrians.

Do not ride this trail as a tourist in commuting hours. It is best done mid-day or north of the UW campus. Way too many fast commuters and cross-walk areas over busy roads.

We walked part of the trail over University Bridge and Fremont Bridge to Gas Works Park and then heading for downtown Seattle. It’s a great concrete path with areas (sometimes separated) for walkers and cyclists. Seems to be popular.

This Trail was wonderful. I took it from Fremont to Gas Works Park and then on to the University of Washington Campus. They have signs guiding you to it and it is nice and paved and wide for both walkers and cyclists.

I ride this route (bicycle) from Kenmore to Seattle fairly freequently. Great views, easy to follow, not too crowded. Only negative if riding your road bike, the roots under the pavement sometimes of the year make it quite a bumpy ride. Upkeep is difficult. Otherwise,...More
