This is a small quaint community playhouse. I have seen several plays here over the years and have never been disappointed. Love the quality of the performances. Some of the seats are up close, within feet of the stage, where one can get a great view of all the actor's expressions. They've added a cafe to purchase food and is... More

Son and I went with school to see The Trial of Ebenezer Scrouge. This is a lovely small theater. Intimate setting. Audience blends into the stage. Great cast. Beautiful costumes. It was a lovely performance!

We have been attending performances at Taproot for many years, seeing most shows every season. I appreciate the quality of the performances and of staging and directing. Scott consistently selects scripts that are challenging and uplifting. The theatre has a unique thrust stage which makes for an intimate experience for the audience. Coupled with the many restaurants in Greenwood, it... More

We have been attending the plays at the Taproot for several years and they are always great and a lot of fun. The theater has been remodeled recently and is a very comfortable theater in the round. This year they are celebrating 40 years of being a staple of live theater in Seattle. Go to the website and check out... More

We attended the Cotton Patch Gospel on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Sadly we left at intermission. The characters were flat, the writing was predictable and the energy sagged. We desperately tried to connect with one of the characters and could not. Before we decided to leave we scanned the room and noticed those under the age of 50 had their... More

Intimate live performance of "This Christmas" feels its way through a labyrinth of character portrayals all wrapped around a core story line that seems to be weaving its way toward the ending already in sight at the start. But new twists keep appearing to make for a charming, even uproarious yet wonderfully touching ending. Very enjoyable even to a this... More

My husband and I love to come to this small neighborhood theater. I am always amazed at the high quality of acting and the care in costumes. I had not expected such remarkable plays from such a small theater.

I saw the play Best Enemies. I was glad the theater has a relatively small stage so that the experiences become more engaging. The play was awesome and I enjoyed the quality of the actors. Great place for up close and personal kind of plays. There are at least two separate stages and coffee shop.

Just saw this performance of an Appalachan Christmas. It was awesome! One of the best Christmas shows I've seen in a long time. The 5 member cast were fabulous as a family from Georgia, reminiscing about Christmas past. It is a redemptive story filled with great folk songs. I highly recommend seeing this show while you can. It runs until... More
