Elliott Bay Book Company has been reviewed positively many times, and all the positive reviews are well-deserved because it is a great place to find books. Unlike stores like B&N's in Seattle, Elliott Bay has its books on display in a wonderfully open space and a space that has lots of places to sit down to sample a book--really comfy... More

Easily one of the largest bookstores I've been in. (except The Strand in NYC, obviously). If I lived here, I'd be a frequent visitor. Great selection of books and lots of seating! They had a great selection of games too, which I love to seeing in bookstores, and lots of really unique ones.

If you like book stores, you will love this one. There is a large selection of books (it's not Powells but still very good). There is a coffee shop in the store and lots of chairs. A great place to browse, read and relax.

Elliott Bay Books is a Seattle institution! A wonderful independent bookstore where you can lose yourself for hours. There is a small cafe inside as well. Parking can be challenging. Highly recommend if you are in Capital Hill area.

I loved my time here! The selection of books was overwhelming, but in the best way possible. The store was organized really well, making it easy to find what you were looking for. My favorite part were the employee book recommendations spread throughout the store. I made my book selections based on these recommendations and cannot wait to begin reading!... More

Very pretty bookstore with a wide variety of books. I spent a couple of hours wandering, smelling, and enjoying the quinoa salad at their little cafe.

The new Elliot bay books is not as great as the origanal that was down at pioneer square but when you go looking for a real book store this one fits the bill. It is all wood inside and very rustic. They have multi levels and very knowledgeable staff. The books are from floor to ceiling and beyond and they... More

Elliott Bay Books used to be downtown, but they are now in a beautifully refurbished, almost 100 year old, industrial building, in Capitol Hill. The building was the original Ford truck service center in town, way back when. What is so nice about the current space is that it is all wood everywhere, and has lots of natural light. It... More

They used to be located in Pioneer Square but then a few years ago they moved to Capitol Hill. And I am very happy that they did. The location is easy to find. The book store is a great place to hang out for a few hours. The staff is very helpful. If you're hungry they have a café in... More

A bookstore with a history and backstock not just bestsellers. Bought a great 500 pc jigsaw puzzle with skyline of Seattle by a local artist + books of course!
